• The events of Holy Week illustrate God's
  fulfillment of all that He had promised in
  sending deliverance and a Redeemer. These events
  include

I. The Presentation of the Perfect Lamb (10th)

• A. Required in preparation for the Passover (Ex
  123 Matt 21-11)
• B. Required to be examined for a period of time
  (Ex 126 Matt. 2112, 23 Luke 2253)
• C. Required to be "without blemish" (Ex 126
  Matt 2659 John 1838)

II. The Sacrifice of the Lamb (14th)

• A. Required for "each one" (Ex 123, 49)
• B. To take place on the fourth day "at twilight"
  or between the evenings (3-5pm(new day started at
  6 PM)) (Ex 126)
• C. When "in the land" it was to be celebrated "at
  the place where the Lord your God shall choose to
  establish His name" (Deut 162,6 Heb 1310-13))

III. The Celebration of Deliverance (15th)

• A. As a means of teaching children (Ex 1225-27)
• B. As an illustration of deliverance from sin and
  slavery (Rom 81-2)

IV. The Victory of the Resurrection (17th)

• A. The beginning of a harvest (Lev 239)
• B. Christ's resurrection is the "firstfruits" (1
  Cor 1520)
• C. Thus, the resurrection of Christ is the first
  of a great harvest which God will produce (1
  Thess 416-18 1 Cor 1517-20)
