• IEEE Honors Ceremony 21 June Gaylord Opryland
  Knoxville
• Very professionally done congratulations to
  staff and volunteers
• IEEE brings honor to itself through the people
  who come to receive these honors from the IEEE
• Includes the Medal of Honor
• IEEE BoD 22 June
• Approved all SA proposals to change policy on
  elections
• SA President a two year term starting with
  2005/2006 term
• Four (half) of the SA BoG members-at-large will
  be elected by the SA BoG
• The CAG Chair will have a vote on the BoG,
  elected by BoG
• Expect to present a new Investment Operations
  Manual for approval in November
• Educational Activities Board (EAB) Standards in
  Education Task Force (SETF) supported by me, Don
  Heirman and Bruce McClung, working to get course
  work involving the use of standards a required
  part of earning an engineering degree

SA Board of Governors

• Last SA BoG meeting was 1 July at Piscataway
• Jim Carlo is leading discussions with the1394
  Trade Association to establish a continuing
  relationship relative to the use and maintenance
  of IEEE standards
• BoG approved a new SA individual dues structure
  for 2004
• IEEE and Society Affiliate members US 35
• Non-IEEE or Affiliate members IEEE US Dues SA
  US Dues
• BoG approves per-ballot fee for entity balloting
  for non-members at 120 of the sliding scale
  membership cost ( lt 1M 1.2K 1M -gt 1B
  3.6K gt1B 6K)
• Continuing progress in SA membership and entity
  balloting noted Corporate membership up 18, to
  45, in first 6 months of 2003 Driven by entity
  balloting and associated interest Battery and PC
