  • The time for the composition is about 1445-1400
B.C. This may be determined by 1 Kings 61

22
I Kgs. 61. Key Verse to Help You Date the Exodus
  • 1. And it came to pass in the four hundred and
eightieth year after the children of Israel were
come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year
of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif,
which is the second month, that he began to build
    the house of the Lord.

23
Merrill Ungers Bible Dictionary on the Date of
the Temple
  • The fourth year of Solomons reign . . . Would
be about 961 B.C. Since Solomon ruled for forty
years (1142). The fourth year of his reign would
be various computed by modern chronologists 958
    B.C. Albright, 967 B.C. Thiel, 962 B.C.
    Begrich.
  • Taking the date of 961 B.C. which cannot
be far from wrong, the date 1441 B.C. as the date
    of the Exodus is computed.

26
EXAMPLES of DOUBLETS   Many people have been
puzzled and not a few troubled by the two
accounts of the creation of man as recorded in
chapters 1 and 2 of Genesis. Some believe they
are contradictory others that it is tradition
added from time to time until it came into its
present form. Some contend the story is a myth
others that it is the product of editors and
redactors who formulated Genesis and other Old
Testament books. However, despite these
explanations, it seems that the purpose can be
explained in a reasonable way while adhering to
the text as we shall presently see. Other claimed
doublets ( 1210-20 201-18 266-11)
27
Jesus and Paul quoted from the Pentateuch as
Divine Authority
Jesus referred to Genesis 127 and Genesis 224
while replying to the Pharisees regarding
marriage and divorce (Matt. 19) Obviously, Jesus
did not count this as a myth or a tradition.
Paul referred to Adam as a real person (Rom.
514). He did the same in his letters to the
Corinthians and Timothy (I Cor. 1545 I Tim.
213). The first account in Genesis one is the
simple statement of Elohim saying He created man
in the divine image (Gen. 1 26).
28
IS GENESIS HISTORY?
  • SOME CRITICS SAY THE CONTENT OF THE SUPERNATURAL
    DISQUALIFIES IT.
  • The Bible is unique Not intended to be a mere
chronicle of events, i.e. a history for historys
sake, or even a complete biography of a nation.
The Pentateuch is a theological interpretation of
selected records of the ancestors of Israel.
Genesis explains the causes behind events are
divine as well as human. It reveals itself as the
word of God, or Biblical history.

29
  • THE NONSPIRITUAL MIND IS THE LEAST QUALIFIED TO
    INTERPRET SPIRITUAL REVELATION.
  • I Cor. 214. But the natural man receiveth not
the things of the Spirit of God for they are
foolishness unto him neither can he know them,
    because they are spiritually discerned.

30
The Purpose of Genesis
  • Ch. 1 To introduce God as Elohim, the Creator of
    All
  • Ch. 2 To introduce God as Jehovah, mans redeemer
  • Ch. 3-11 Man is a creature of free choice to
choose life with God or choose the way of death.
To reveal mans desperate need of salvation.
  • 4. Ch. 12-51 The process of selecting and
nurturing a people through whom Gods promise of
a Seed to save man will be accomplished.

56
IN THE BEGINNING - GOD
  • God is the Origin of all things
  • God is Spirit (unseen)
  • All things have their beginning in the unseen
realm (Eph. 117. And he is before all things,
and by him all things consist.
  • Things still have their beginning in the realm of
    the unseen.

57
THE INTELLIGENT, ORDERLY, VISIBLE ALWAYS COMES
FROM THE INVISIBLE
  • THEREFORE THE WRITER OF HEBREWS SAYS IN 113

Through faith we understand that the worlds were
framed by the word of God, so that things which
are seen were not made of things which do
appear. THE BIG BANG..GOD COMMANDED IT AND BANG
IT WAS THERE
58
SOME ASPECTS OF GOD
  • GOD IS SPIRIT (dwells in the unseen realm)
  • 12The spirit of God moved on the face of the
    waters. RSV
  • 126 Man was made in the image of Elohim.
  • Jn. 424 God is Spirit.
  • SPIRIT IS UNLIMITED BY TIME OR SPACE
  • Ps. 10224- Thou art the same, years have no
    end.
  • Ps. 139 Gods Spirit is everywhere

SOME ASPECTS OF GOD
  • GOD IS TIMELESS
  • Eccl. 311. He hath made every thing beautiful
in his time also he hath set the world in their
heart, so that no man can find out the work that
God maketh from the beginning to the end.
  • Man can think about time before he was born, and
the time after deathbut thats all.
  • Jesus identified Himself with the eternal I AM
The bread, way, truth, life, door, shepherd,
resurrection, vine., light., and climaxed it with
before Abraham was, I AM. Jn. 858

60
SOME ASPECTS OF GOD
  • GOD IS ALL PERCEPTIVE
  • Ps. 1392. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine
uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
    3. Thou compassest my path and my lying down,
and art acquainted with all my ways. 4. For
there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O
Lord, thou knowest it altogether. 5. Thou hast
beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand
upon me. 6. Such knowledge is too wonderful for
me it is high, I cannot attain unto it. 7.
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither
shall I flee from thy presence? 8. If I ascend
up into heaven, thou art there if I make my bed
in hell, behold, thou art there. 12. Even the
darkness hideth not from thee, But the night
shineth as the day The darkness and the light
    are both alike to thee.
  • 13. For thou didst form my inward parts Thou
didst cover me in my mother's womb.

61
SOME ASPECTS OF GOD
  • GOD IS LOVE (1 John. 416)
  • TOTAL SELFLESSNESS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF MAN
  • HIS LOVE IS EXPRESSED IN GENEROUS MERCY (2 CHRON.

  • GOD HAS BEEN DEMONSTRATING THIS SINCE THE
BEGINNINGOUR STUDY IN THE PENTATEUCH IS THE
    VESTIBULE OF THAT DEMONSTRATION

62
GOD IS OMNIPRESENT IN THE SPIRIT
  • Knew of Hagar in the wilderness. Gen 16
  • Knows every prayer (Phil. 46 Jms. 15)
  • Knows every deed (Matt. 1042)
  • The hairs on ones head and every sparrow that
    falls (Mt. 1031-32)
  • Knows the thoughts and the intents of our heart
    (Heb. 412)
  • WHEN WE REALIZE ALL THIS ABOUT GOD AS OMIPRESENT
IN SPIRIT WE WILL INCREASINGLY BECOME AWARE OF
HIS AWESOME POWER OVER MANS LIFE.

63
THE ESSENCE OF YAHWEH OR JEHOVAH IN THE OLD
TESTAMENT Originally YHWH, the Tetragrammaton
  • He is the God of promise. He is able to keep His
promise regardless of any sinful Satanic
consequences that happen to come along.

64
Thoughts on the Eternalness of God and Man
  • Why can a manufacturers guarantee be extended to
    longer periods over the years?
  • What if he could produce a perfect product?
  • Why is man living longer than a century ago?
  • What prevents man from living forever?
  • What if his imperfections were removed?
  • Where can man learn about removing all his
    imperfections?

65
B. IN THE BEGINNING ELOHIM CREATED THE HEAVENS
AND THE EARTH
THE EYE IS LIMITED TO ITS MAXIMUM RANGE THEREFORE
MAN CANNOT REDUCE GOD TO ITS LIMITS
At the end of the visible is the spiritual---

God Begins to Reveal Himself in Genesis One
  • He introduces Himself as . . .
  • Elohim the mighty Ones
  • El God
  • Used exclusively til 24 - Depicts God as the
    mighty creating One
  • Why the plural? the Bible is emphatic that
    there is only one God!

67
There is One God who Reveals Himself in Plural
Roles
  • Gen 11-2-4 God is the Creator of All things.

68
God is Also the Redeemer and Savior of Man
  • Gen. 24 324 is the account of the fall of
man. The divine scheme of redemption begins. The
    Covenant Made
  • God is is in the role of the Redeeming One for
which he uses the name . .
  • YAHWEH ELOHIM THE Lord God. This is first used
    in Gen. 24

69
YAHWEH
  • It is translated LORD. (Large cap, small caps)
  • Extremely sacred, not to be pronounced
  • It is translated Jehovah in the ASV
  • It is translated eternal in Moffatts Trs.
  • TO BE THE SELF EXISTING ONE
  • I AM THAT I AM EX. 314. Isa. 4311
  • ETERNAL IS NOT MERE LONGEVITY, BUT QUALITY
  • QUALITY IS THE ESSENCE OF LONGEVITY
  • Used in emphasis of the covenant aspect of the
    Godhead.

70
God Reveals Himself as MASTER
  • When in this role he uses the name of ADON
    MASTER (One who rules)
  • Ps. 1101. The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou
at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy
    footstool.

71
ADONAI GEN. 152
  • TRANS. IN KJV RSV AS Lord (Capital L with the
rest in lower caseto be distinguished from
lords, all lower case, which refers to men)
  • Adonai means Rulers
  • Those who walked by faith would be submissive to
    God as Ruler or Master

72
In the beginning God
  • Beginning former
  • Before the material (seen), hence the spiritual
    (unseen) realm.
  • God is a Spirit and they that worship him must
worship in spirit and truth. John 424.
  • 118. No man hath seen God at any time the only
begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father,
    he hath declared him.

73
In the second chapter, the emphasis changes In
24 the new name Jehovah (the covenant or promise
deity) appears and God is seen in the new
redemptive roll of man. In chapter one, He
revealed Himself as ELOHIM, the Creator who
created the heavens, the earth, all creatures and
man. So man, male and female, were told to be
fruitful and multiply in order that they and
their descendants might have dominion over all
the earth (Gen. 126-28). In 24 Jehovah Elohim
formed Eve as a helpmeet in the fulfillment of
the covenant. Paul explained to the Corinthians
that the woman was made from (out of-- as a
source) the man.
74
JESUS was the SPIRITUAL WORD that Created All
things
  • Colossians 115. Who is the image of the
invisible God, the firstborn of every creature
  • 16. For by him were all things created, that
are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and
invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions,
or principalities, or powers all things were
created by him, and for him
  • 17. And he is before all things, and by him all
    things consist.
  • NOW WE CAN UNDERSTAND BETTER WHY THE PLURAL
    ELOHIM APPEARS IN GENESIS ONE

75
The word of Life and the Light of Men Jesus
  • John 14. In him was life and the life was the
    light of men.
  • 5. And the light shineth in darkness and the
    darkness comprehended it not.
  • (COULD NOT ARREST IT)

76
Light is the product of the spoken Word and life
is the product of that Light
  • I John 11. That which was from the beginning,
which we have heard, which we have seen with our
eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands
have handled, of the Word of life
  • 2. (For the life was manifested, and we have
seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that
eternal life, which was with the Father, and was
    manifested unto us)

77
Fellowship with God and each Believer depends
upon Receiving the declared word of light and
letting your light shine
  • I John 133. That which we have seen and heard
declare we unto you, that ye also may have
fellowship with us and truly our fellowship is
with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
  • Mt. 516. Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works, and glorify
your Father which is in heaven.

78
Light, life, and cleansing blood eternal life.
These all imply faith and obedience
  • 1 JOHN 15. This then is the message which we
have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God
is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6.
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and
walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth
  • 7. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the
light, we have fellowship one with another, and
the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us
    from all sin.
  • 8. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive
ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9. If
we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
    unrighteousness.

79
OUR ATTITUDE TOWARD THE WORD WILL DETERMINE OUR
JUDGMENT.
  • John 831. Then said Jesus to those Jews which
believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then
    are ye my disciples indeed
  • John 12 48. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth
not my words, hath one that judgeth him the word
that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in
    the last day.

GEN. 11------IN THE BEGINNING
  • THE INITIAL TIME
  • FROM WHICH ALL THINGS IN MOSES RECORD WILL
    FOLLOW.
  • GOD WAS THERE WHY IS GOD ETERNAL LIFE?
  • WHEN WILL WE ENJOY ETERNAL LIFE?
  • An INTERVAL IN THE DIVINE EXISTENCE WHEN ELOHIM
BEGAN HIS ORDERLY WORK OF CREATING THE HEAVENS
    AND THE EARTH.

81
Genesis 15 18 is a good example of use in KJV,
NKJV RSV
  • 15 1. After these things the word of the LORD
came unto Abram 2. And Abram said, Lord God,
what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless,
and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of
    Damascus?
  • 4. And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto
    him,
  • 8. And he said, Lord God, whereby shall I know
    that I shall inherit it?
  • 1812. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself,
saying, After I am waxed old shall I have
pleasure, my lord being old also?
  • 13. And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore
did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear
    a child, which am old?
  • 14. Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the
time appointed I will return unto thee, according
to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

82
ANOTHER NAME APPEARS IN GEN. 171
  • El Shadday Shad dah eeAlmighty God - Unlimited
    power, omnipotent
  • 171. And when Abram was ninety years old and
nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto
him, I am the Almighty God walk before me, and
    be thou perfect.

THE SIX DAYS CREATION
  • All creation is by the WORD of Elohim
  • Verse 1-3.the Word created light When God began
to speak, darkness was expelled by the light of
    His word
  • Verse 20-23the Word created life
  • Verses 26-31 the Word created human life VERY
    GOOD)

84
TWO FAQS
  • How old is the earth?
  • Adam and Eve were created as adults which means
God could have created all things in a mature
state whereby all would be mere speculation to
    try to determine.
  • How long were the days? Scripture seems to
indicate that they were 24 hour days. But also in
some places yom means a period of time
  • (Gen. 51)

Jesus is the word of light which is LIFE in the
world
  • Jn. 14. In him was life and the life was the
    light of men
  • The WORD that existed in spirit became the word
in the flesh. Jesus became THE EMBODIED WORD OF
    GOD---HEBREWS 11
  • Acts 1326. Men and brethren, children of the
stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth
God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
  • JESUS MEANS SALVATION

91
THE FIRST DAY - LIGHT
14. And God saw the light, that it was good
and God divided the light from the darkness. 5.
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he
called Night. And the evening and the morning
were the first day.
92
THE SECOND DAY SPACE BETWEEN THE WATERS
6. And God said, Let there be a firmament
raqia, space in the midst of the waters, and
let it divide the waters from the waters. 7.
And God made the firmament, and divided the
waters which were under the firmament from the
waters which were above the firmament and it was
so. 8. And God called the firmament Heaven. And
the evening and the morning were the second day.
93
THE THIRD DAY DRY LAND AND PLANT LIFE
9. And God said, Let the waters under the
Heaven be gathered together unto one place, and
let the dry land appear and it was so. 10. And
God called the dry land Earth and the gathering
together of the waters called he Seas and God
saw that it was good. 11. And God said, Let the
earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed,
and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind,
whose seed is in itself, upon the earth and it
was so. 12. And the earth brought forth grass,
and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the
tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself,
after his kind and God saw that it was good.
13. And the evening and the morning were the
third day.
94
THE FOURTH DAY THE SUN, MOON AND STARS
14. And God said, Let there be lights in the
firmament of the heaven to divide the day from
the night and let them be for signs, and for
seasons, and for days, and years 15. And let
them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven
to give light upon the earth and it was so. 16.
And God made two great lights the greater light
to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the
night he made the stars also. 17. And God set
them in the firmament of the heaven to give light
upon the earth, 18. And to rule over the day
and over the night, and to divide the light from
the darkness and God saw that it was good. 19.
And the evening and the morning were the fourth
day.
95
THE FIFTH DAY ANIMAL LIFE
  • 20. And God said, Let the waters bring forth
abundantly the moving creature that hath life,
and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open
    firmament of heaven.
  • 21. And God created great whales, and every
living creature that moveth, which the waters
brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and
every winged fowl after his kind and God saw
    that it was good.
  • 22. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful,
and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas,
and let fowl multiply in the earth.
  • 23. And the evening and the morning were the
    fifth day.

96
6TH DAY -FERTIILITY 0F ANIMAL LIFE AND MAN
  • 24. And God said, Let the earth bring forth the
living creature after his kind, cattle, and
creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his
    kind and it was so.
  • 25. And God made the beast of the earth after
his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every
thing that creepeth upon the earth after his
kind and God saw that it was good.
  • 26. And God said, Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness and let them have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of
the air, and over the cattle, and over all the
earth, and over every creeping thing that
    creepeth upon the earth.
  • 27. So God created man in his own image, in the
image of God created he him male and female
created he them. 28. And God blessed them, and
God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply,
and replenish the earth, and subdue it and have
dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the
fowl of the air, and over every living thing that
    moveth upon the earth.
  • 29. And God said, Behold, I have given you
every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face
of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is
the fruit of a tree yielding seed to you it
shall be for meat. 30. And to every beast of
the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to
every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein
there is life, I have given every green herb for
meat and it was so. 31. And God saw every
thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very
good. And the evening and the morning were the
    sixth day.

97
6TH DAY - MAN
  • All creation to the 6th day was an act of Divine
grace in preparation to his supreme work man.
  • Man was supreme because God created him in his
own image and all others were to be his
    offspring.
  • ACTS 1726. and he made of one every nation of
men to dwell on all the face of the earth,
  • Ps. 84 What is man, that thou art mindful of
    him?
  • Such thoughts generates such questions as 1)
Why did God create man? 2) what is his nature?
    3) Why are there two accounts of creation in
    Genesis?

98
GOD ENTERED INTO HIS REST ON THE 7TH DAY.
  • 6th day closed with all things very good.
  • 1. Perfect creation resulted in
  • A. Perfect obedience to the word of God
  • B. Perfect health and happiness of life
  • THIS SABBATH IS THE PERFECT HARMONY OF MAN
DWELLING WITH HIS CREATOR. IT WILL BE SANCTIFIED
AND REMAIN A LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS AFTER THE
    FALL.

99
HOW CAN SUCH PERFECTION OF THE CREATION CONTINUE
IN RELATION TO GOD?
  • THE LIFE, HAPPINESS LAW ARE SEEN IN THE REST OF
    THE SABBATH
  • God is self existing because he abides in His
character. He abides because He chooses always to
walk in the light of holiness. This is the secret
of eternal lifefor God and His creation.
  • Giving man life with a free will, God lovingly
reveals to him the source (law) of happiness
eternal life and the danger of death if this law
    is broken

100
A Possible Reason for why God Created Man
  • The angels were first created designated as
    cherubim. (Gen. 324 Ps. 991)
  • They had free will or ability to choose (Rev.
    228)
  • The highest Angel challenged the creators
    authority. This rebellion is depicted
symbolically in the attitudes of the Kings of
Tyre and Babylon (Ez. 28-28 Isa. 14)
  • He was overthrown and cast down to earth (Rev.
127-9). He has, or is preparing an eternal realm
called hell for him and his angels (Mt. 2541

101
God Refutes Satans Accusation that He is
unloving by demonstrating His love in Creation
and all History
  • The unfolding of history since creation is a
revelation that God is holy and love (Jno. 48)
  • The creation of man was an act of love. Giving
them life, happiness and dominion in a heaven on
earth. (Gen. 126-27) This was placed before
Satan that Elohim was exactly what he claimed to
    be ---LOVE.
  • Even when he would sin, God knew man would need
his love. So, before the creation He planned to
send his Son. (I Pet. 118-20 Rev. 138 Eph.
    14)

102
Why Give Man A Choice of Sin?Because eternal
life is determined by character - no choice, no
character.
  • Eternal life-a quality of loveis offered man by
a choice based on faith motivated by love in
Gods promise of it (Gal. 56).
  • The entire history of mankind justifies God as
being a God of love and grace in actionthat the
fruit of the spirit is Life eternal and that the
fruit of sin is death. At the end, all history
will be a demonstration that God is just in his
judgment to cast all those who chose sin and
death in a place of destruction with the
originators of sin, Satan and his followers.
    (Rev. 2010)

103
WHY HAVE LAW? BECAUSE GOD IS LOVE
  • Eternal law exists of life and death.
  • CHOICE can be made for either, thus proving
    character.
  • This demanded a prohibited tree.
  • The Law of life is older than the universe. The
angels broke the law of life in heaven.
  • Gods revelation of the law of life and death was
his warning of love to man to prevent him to
avoid the pitfalls of suffering and death.
  • Law is for mans ultimate happiness.
  • Society would be chaos without law.

104
THE CROWNING VICTORY OF LOVE
  • In his hatred of Gods character, Satan uses sin
to destroy the crowning creation of Gods love--
The human race. He would then use sinful man to
    murder the Son of God.
  • But love conquers with something Satans depraved
mind could not comprehendGod love gave His Sons
life for the life of all who accept Gods grace
    through faith.

105
Thus Gods love joins the gift of Grace with the
Faith of Man to save a soul from sin
  • Eph. 28-9 8. for by grace have ye been saved
through faith and that not of yourselves, it is
    the gift of God
  • Gods gift must be accepted by faith. Note
Pauls demonstration of how this is done ACTS
2216. And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be
baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on his
    name.
  • John 1934 Rev. 15 Rom. 63-4

106
GOD WILL BE SEEN AS LOVE AND JUST AT THE FINAL
JUDGMENT.
  • AT THE JUDGMENT
  • I Cor. 15 All the dead shall be raised before
the presence of God, both believers and Satans
    followers
  • All history will have proved that Jehovah is
    love and entirely fair
  • ALL BELIEVERS who have suffered will affirm this
  • UNBELIEVERS WILL BE WITHOUT AN EXCUSE (Mt.
    2211-14 201-16 2514-30 LK. 1911-27
  • HISTORY WILL HAVE DEMONSTRATED THAT GOD IS LOVE
  • MAN WILL THEN BE PLACED IN HEAVEN WHERE ALL
TEMPTATIONS ARE GONE FOREVER., Satan and
followers will be punished eternally. Rev. 218

107
REFLECTIONS ON ADAM AND EVE.
  • BOTH had imparted to them THE Spirit of Elohim,
in Gods image, I.e. clean/pure. Made a living
    soul, a being. Each had a mind..intellect,
insight into their experiences in Eden.
  • Each had emotionswants, wishes, desires.
  • Before the fall, they only desired God and life
  • Each had a conscience, though dormant while
    innocent. Activated by disobedience.

108
REFLECTIONS ON ADAM AND EVE.
  • Each had eternal life on a conditional basis.
The conditions being the basic essential of
lifeobedience to the word of life, Gods word.
  • None ever again like them. They began as adults.
  • THINGS WE DONT KNOW ABOUT THEM How long they
were in Eden before the fall. Aging began at the
    sentence of death.

109
GOD IS THE WAY OF LIFE, THEREFORE HIS CHARACTER
IS THE LAW OF LIFE
  • GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE BECAUSE HE ABIDES BY THE LAW
OF HIMSELF WHICH MUST NEVER BE BROKEN.
  • GOD DESIRED MAN TO ENJOY ETERNAL LIFE THEREFORE
BY GRACE HE REVEALS THE RUDIMENTARY LAW OF LIFE
TO THEM TRUST HIS WORD, NEVER DISOBEY IT .
  • THIS IS NOT FOR HIS DIVINE EGO, IT IS FOR MANS
GOOD LIKE WE DO WITH CHILDREN

110
ELOHIM REVEALS THE ELEMENTARY LAW OF LIFE AND
DEATH TO MAN.
DT. 3019. I call heaven and earth to record
this day against you, that I have set before you
life and death, blessing and cursing therefore
choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live
OBEDIENCE, THE FRUIT OF LIFE
DISOBEDIENCE, THE FRUIT OF DEATH
THIS IS REPRESENTED BY CHOOSING THE FRUIT OF TWO
TREES. THE ONE DESIGNATED AS BEARING THE FRUIT
OF LIFE AND T HE OTHER THE FRUIT OF DEATHWHICH
MEANS ONLY ---LOVE GOD AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS
TO LIVE, ---OR CHOOSE OTHERWISE AND SUFFER AND
DIE. God gave the law of life in extreme
simplicity . Man may not understand, but he can
obey. Same with children and electricity.
111
JESUS DEMONSTRATED THAT THE WAY OF HOLINESS
LOVE IS THE WAY OF LIFE
  • John 11 In the beginning was the Word, and the
    word was God.
  • John 14. In him (the Word) was life and the
life was the light of men.
  • 15. If ye love me, keep my commandments.
  • ONE IS ONLY FEIGNING LOVE FOR JESUS IF HE
SECRETLY OPPOSES ANY PART OF HIS WORD OF LIFE

112
WHY DID MAN MAKE SUCH A FOOLISH DECISION? HE WAS
DECEIVED
  • IT NEVER ENTERED MANS HEART TO SIN (DISOBEYMISS
THE MARK) ON HIS OWN. HE HAD DIABOLICAL HELP.
  • IS THIS WHY MAN RECEIVED GRACE IN HIS FALL, WHILE
THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS DID NOT IN THEIR
    REBELLION AGAINST DIVINE AUTHORITY?

113
Where did Satan come from? Satan means
adversary. Devil means slanderer or accuser
  • REV. 127. And there was war in heaven Michael
and his angels fought against the dragon and the
    dragon fought and his angels,
  • 8. And prevailed not neither was their place
    found any more in heaven.
  • 9. And the great dragon was cast out, that old
serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which
deceiveth the whole world he was cast out into
the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

114
THE FALL Forearm yourself with this knowledge
  • 1. Temptation comes like a serpent in
    unsuspected forms
  • Subtly, stealing slowly and quietly, waiting for
your weakest moment, and then bites with pain
    and sorrow.
  • 2. It launches a bridgehead in your heart by
    exciting your curiosity
  • Curiosity killed the Cat
  • Our greatest security against sin lies in our
being shocked by it. (Jer. 615)
  • 3. Eve was in close proximity to the forbidden.
  • She gazed and reflected when she should have fled

115
THE FALL Forearm yourself with this knowledge
  • 4. There are dangerous cravings in its elements.
  • Instinctively draws toward the mysterious. One
veiled figure in an assembly will draw more
attention than the most beautiful present. An
unaccountable appearance in the heavens will draw
more attention than the most beautiful sunset.
  • 5. Through A craving to be mature, even at the
expense of danger, unbelief disobedience finds
    entrance
  • 6. Experience teaches that one taste of evil
ruined our first parents. One taste alters
    attitudes.
  • Loyalty to to God is loosened, man loses spirit.

116
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE PRESENCE OF THE FORBIDDEN.
  • 1. AS SHE GAZED AT ITS BEAUTY, , SHE LONGED IN
HER HEART, SHE WAS WEAKENED BY CRAVING
  • 2, THEN SHE SAW AN INCREDIBLE THING THAT SEEMED
TO MAKE GOD FALSE. A SERPENT DEVOURED THE
    FORBIDDEN FRUIT WITHOUT ANY HARM.
  • 4. SHE COULD NOT UNDERSTAND THISHAD GOD BEEN
    COMPLETELY TRUE?
  • 5. THE DEVIL USES THE MOMENT SPEAKS TO HER
    HEARTS DESIRE.

117
The Serpents Seed is Sown in Eves Heart
  • 1. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God
said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the
    garden?
  • Inferred God has not been fair with you

118
Eves Reply Shows her Resentment and
VulnerabilityShes a sitting duck for Satan, an
accident waiting to happen.
  • Gen. 32. And the woman said unto the serpent,
We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the
    garden
  • 3. But of the fruit of the tree which is in the
midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not
eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

119
THE FIRST LIE IN THE WORLD WAS NOT TOLD BY MAN
  • 4. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye
    shall not surely die
  • GOD HAD SAID 217. But of the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of
it for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou
    shalt surely die.

120
JESUS REFERS TO THIS IN JOHN 844
  • 44. Ye are of your father the devil, and the
lusts of your father ye will do. He was a
murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the
truth, because there is no truth in him. When he
speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own for he is
a liar, and the father of it.
  • 45. And because I tell you the truth, ye
    believe me not.

121
SATAN STILL PERVERTS WITH THE NOT IN HIS TALE.
  • JESUS MARK 1616
  • HE THAT BELIEVETH AND IS BAPTIZED SHALL BE SAVED.
  • SATAN HE THAT BELIEVETH AND IS NOT BAPTIZED
    SHALL BE SAVED.

122
OBSERVE ANOTHER NOT IN THE DEVILS TALE TODAY
  • THE BIBLE SAYS
  • I Cor. 1012. Wherefore let him that thinketh he
standeth take heed lest he fall.
  • SATANS NOT
  • YOU CAN NOT SURELY FALL.

123
THE SERPENTS APPEAL TO PRIDE
  • 5. For God doth know that in the day ye eat
thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye
shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
  • EXPERIENCING THE AFTERMATH EFFECT OF EVIL WAS THE
KNOWLEDGE GOD DID NOT WANT THEM TO EVER KNOW.
  • A common feeling of parents today with their
    children.

124
Eve is overpowered by craving and succumbs to the
temptation.
  • 3 6. And when the woman
  • 1) saw that the tree was good for food (she
walked by sight not by faith and became
convinced that God had lied) (2 Cor. 57)
  • 2) and that it was pleasant to the eyes,
  • 3) and a tree to be desired to make one wise,

  • 4) She took of the fruit thereof.

125
THE NEW KNOWLEDGE ---WAS by EXPERIENCING THE
EFFECT OF SIN. WHY DIDNT THEY CLAP THEIR HANDS
IN JOY?
  • 1. THE NEW KNOWLEDGE WAS NOT WHAT THE COUPLE
    EXPECTED
  • 2. EXPECTED SUFFICIENCY WITHOUT GOD
  • 3. EXPECTED THE DISCOVERY OF A MYSTERY
  • 4. EXPECTED TO BE EQUAL WITH GOD IN WISDOM

126
THE INNOCENT, HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE NEW
EXPERIENCE OF SIN BRINGS
  • THE SCARS THAT SIN WOULD BRING TO THEM!
  • THEIR INNOCENCE WAS GONE, GONE, GONE
  • THAT THEY HAD A CONSCIENCE THAT WOULD DOG THEM IN
THE NIGHT FOR THE REST OF LIFE.
  • FEELING DEFILED AND UNCLEAN, AFRAID OF THE
PRESENCE OF THE HOLINESS OF GOD.
  • THINGS WOULD NEVER, NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN.
  • THAT IN THEIR NEW DEFILEMENT THEY WOULD FORFEIT
    THE PRESENCE OF GOD.
  • THEIR LOSS WAS AWESOME TO BEAR. SEPARATION FROM
    THE TREE OF LIFE.

127
The knowledge God did not want them (man) to ever
Have.
  • PHYSICAL PAIN AND SUFFERING
  • A BROKEN FAMILY LIFESEEING THEIR SON MURDER HIS
    BROTHER
  • EMOTIONAL PAIN AND SUFFERING
  • THE EFFECTS OF SIN IN AGING THE BODY AND DEATH
    ARE ALWAYS A THREAT
  • THE FEELING OF A GULF AND DISTANCE FROM GOD.

128
Consequences of the fall.
  • 1. Eyes were opened. ---Gen. 37. And the eyes
of them both were openedthe new knowledge came
    and brought
  • 2. Knowledge of guilt shame. They knew they
were naked (loss of innocence) and they sewed
fig leaves together, and made themselves
aprons---Even still, criminals cover their faces
    before the camera
  • 3. Neither wanted to accept responsibility for
    their sin.
  • MAN CANNOT COVER HIS SIN WITH FLIMSY EXCUSES
    BEFORE GOD'S ALL SEEING EYE.

129
IN THE WAKE OF SIN. GODS LOVE PROMISES GRACE IN
THE PROTOEVANGELION
  • 315. THE OLDEST GOSPEL
  • And I will put enmity between thee and the woman,
and between thy seed and her seed it shall
bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
  • HERE WE HAVE
  • 1. HER SEEDVIRGIN BIRTH
  • 2. BRUISE THY HEAD..DEFEAT OF SATAN
  • 3. BRUISE HIS HEEL..SUFFERING SAVIOR.

130
ADEQUATE COVERING FOR THEIR NEW CONSCIENCE OF
NAKEDNESS WAS THE SHEDDING OF BLOOD OF AN
INNOCENT ANIMALTHEIR FIRST EXPERIENCE OF A DEATH
  • 321. Unto Adam also and to his wife did the
Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
  • 1. Self covering was inadequate
  • 2. Blood was shed and death occurred
  • 3. Rom. 323 The wages of sin is death.
  • 4. Sin is awesome in its effects on society.

131
THE EXCOMMUNICATION FROM EDEN AND THE GULF THAT
SIN CREATES BETWEEN GOD AND MAN
  • 322 And now, lest he put forth his hand, and
take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live
for ever 23. Therefore the Lord God sent him
forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground
    from whence he was taken.
  • 324. So he drove out the man and he placed at
the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a
flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the
way of the tree of life.

132
WHERE IS THE TREE OF LIFE NOW?
  • Rev. 27. He that hath an ear, let him hear what
the Spirit saith unto the churches To him that
overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of
life, which is in the midst of the paradise of
    God.
  • Rev. 2214. Blessed are they that do his
commandments, that they may have right to the
tree of life, and may enter in through the gates
    into the city.

133
TO RETURN TO THE TREE OF LIFE ONE MUST BE SLAIN
BY THE SWORD OF GODS WORD.
  • GEN. 324 He placed at the east of the garden of
Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned
every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
  • 12. For the word of God is quick, and powerful,
and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing
even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner
of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

WHEN ONE BELIEVES THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD
RAISED FROM THE DEAD IT IS SAID THAT HE IS CUT
TO THE HEART) . i.e. SPIRITUALLY SLAIN (REPENTS
IN SORROW)
  • ACTS 237. Now when they heard this, they were
pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and
to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren,
    what shall we do?

    they shall be comforted.
  • Rom. 67. For he that is dead is freed from
    sin.
  • 8. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe
that we shall also live with him

THE SWORD (GOSPEL) PIERCES THE HEART, SLAYING THE
SINNER, AND THEN HE IS BURIED WITH CHRIST IN
BAPTISM
  • 4. Therefore we are buried with him by baptism
into death that like as Christ was raised up
from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so
we also should walk in newness of life.
  • 5. For if we have been planted together in the
likeness of his death, we shall be also in the
    likeness of his resurrection
  • 6. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified
with him, that the body of sin might be
destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve
    sin.
  • 7. For he that is dead is freed from sin.

To See the Angel of the Lord was said to have
seen God
  • Gen 32 30. And Jacob called the name of the
place Peniel for, said he, I have seen God face
to face, and my life is preserved.
  • Ju. 1310. For it came to pass, when the flame
went up toward heaven from off the altar, that
the angel of Jehovah ascended in the flame of the
altar and Manoah and his wife looked on and
they fell on their faces to the ground. Judges
1322 And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall
surely die, because we have seen God.
