Sunday School 2006

Sunday School Curriculum
  • 1.) The Sunday School will be following the
Malankara Orthodox Curriculum in its entirety
    (KG-12th).
  • 2.) Each group has 2 years to complete their
    syllabus.
  • 3.) The children will move on to the next level
in Sunday School as a group.  Thus, age is not a
factor.  Rather, it is the completion of the
syllabus as a group that warrants the move up.
This is to make sure that everyone in each group
gets the full benefit of the syllabus before
    moving on.
  • 4.)  All the books we need for the next two years
will be ordered now.  Teachers will distribute to
the children only the text/workbook that is
currently being used. This is so they can get new
books every so often to keep their interest up.
Also, we hope to minimize texts being lost, etc.
SS and parents will divide the cost of
    books 50/50.

Sunday School Syllabus

Sunday School Syllabus
  • 1.) Teachers have developed an outline for the
year based on available texts/workbooks.  This
has been reviewed with the SS curriculum committee
    .
  •
  • 2.) The outline(s) will be posted on the Church
bulletin board.  This is to help address parent's
concerns that they are unaware of what is being
taught in SS.  Individual class forums will
remain on the main Church site for class
assignments and as a mechanism to address parent
    questions.
  •
  • 3.) There will be a midterm exam and a cumulative
final exam for each class with prizes awarded.
  •
  • 4.) Teachers have been asked to be diligent in
keeping attendance so that we can especially
acknowledge those students who have been most
regular at the end of the year.
