My Story
  • Born Adelaide
  • (Year JFK died)
  • School Adelaide Country SA
  • Trade School Mechanic
  • (wired to solve problems)
  • Accident 19 Sept 1981
  • (C4/5 Quadriplegic)
  • Rehab. - 5 weeks RAH, 5 months total

My Work
  • After accident continued Trade School as I could
  • Used electric typewriter but had failings
  • Explored early PC as enhanced typewriter
  • 1984 got first PC (Mac)
  • End 80s got first modem
  • Used modem to help admin part of a BBS in
    Adelaide
  • Shared what communications technology had done
    for me
  • 1992 - led to meeting re setting up BBS for PWD
  • 1993 Employed Full-time as IT Coordinator DIRC

  • Live in my own home
  • Home was modified existing home (not built new)
  • Modified not just to suit me only but me in
    particular (universal design)
  • Cater for those around me (I do have chairs and
    sofa)
