Creating a New Teacher File
The first time you open the program, choose New
to create your first class.

Main Screen
Start adding student records by clicking on Add
New Student

Student Information
Click in a field to add information. Use the tab
key to move from field to field. First, Last,
Gender, Grade and Language are important!
Use the New Student button to create a new record

Saving Teacher Files
When you click on the New Student button, the
computer will prompt you to SAVE!
  • Use the Save In drop down menu to find your
    teacher folder

  • Double-click on your folder name

  • Give the file a File name
  • For example, Jones2001
  • Click the Save button

Student Information
Complete each student in the Student Information
record.
To move to the report card view, click on Edit

Setting Teacher/School Information
Click in the School Name, School Year and Teacher
Name, Phone and Email fields to set this
information on all cards.

Adding Quarterly Grades
Click the box next to the subject to enter a
grade. A drop down menu will be displayed.
Choose the appropriate number or the X.

Adding Comments
Click in the comment box to bring up the Edit
Comment dialogue box.
To use the EZ-Comment option, select from the
Comment Library menu. Choose a category and
sub-category. Click the comment title.

Choosing Comments
The corresponding comment will appear in the
Preview box. Click Apply to enter the comment in
the comment box. More than one comment can be
added.

Editing a Comment
A nickname can be added. Comments can be edited
in the top box. Choose font size if desired.
Auto Check is available.
Click the Save button to return to the report
card form.

Adding TUSD Objectives
Use the Readiness, Foundation, and Essential Line
Libraries to add specific performance objective
comments from the CORE Curriculum

Applying Comment to All
Use the Global Mode button to create and apply
comments to all students. This is best done
before other comments are made.

Adding Special Programs
Click beside Support Programs. An Data Entry Box
will appear. Type Programs in box. Click the
Done button.

Adding Current LAS Score
Click behind Current LAS Score. A drop-down menu
will appear. Choose the appropriate number or NA.

Adding Attendance
Click in the box beside Days Present to begin
adding attendance data.

Adding Numbers
A drop-down menu will appear. Choose a number or
Other to type a number not listed.
Continue with Days Absent, Tardy and Off Roll
(days not attending this school).

Use the Scroll Bar to move to the second page.

AssessmentMethods
Click in the boxes beside the methods of
Assessment used during the quarter. Click again
remove the X.

Grade Assignment Next Year
During Quarter 4 only, teachers can designate the
grade assignment for the next year. Click on the
blank space under Frank is assigned to.

Grade Assignment Next Year
A drop-down menu will appear. Choose the
appropriate grade.

Moving from Student to Student
  • Use the drop-down menu in the top left corner to
    move to another students progress report
  • Use the forward/back arrow to move to the next or
    previous student

Keeping Track
Keep track of where you are in the completion of
the progress reports with the tracker drop-down
menu. Quickly see who still needs to be
completed or printed.
Markers are displayed on the Main Screen for easy
viewing!

Changing Quarters
Use the drop down menu next to the Quarter option
to change the quarter. You can only enter grades
or attendance for the designated quarter.

Creating a Progress Report in Spanish
Creating a Progress Report in Spanish requires
designating the computer to maintain a Spanish
report card in the Student Information. Choose
Spanish from the drop-down menu.

Once Spanish is designated, the Spanish button on
the option bar will become active.

Creating a Progress Report in Spanish
Text on the form will be changed to Spanish and
the comments from the Line Libraries will be
translated. Edits and additions done by the
teacher in English will not be translated
automatically! Only Line Libraries transfer!!!!!

Saving a File
  • Saving on Report Card Maker is exactly the same
    as on Word.
  • Choose FileSave to update information in the
    same place
  • Choose FileSave as to rename a file or change
    its location.

Moving to the Main Screen
Click on the Bus to return to the Main Screen

Preparing to Print
Before you print, you must connect the program
and printer. Go to FilePage Setup. Check to
see if the correct printer is chosen. Click
OK. Do this every time you print!

Printing Reports
To Print the entire class or a large number of
Progress Reports, start at the Main Screen. On
the File menu, choose Print.

Print Dialogue Box
The Print dialogue box allows you to select the
students you want to print. Use the Select All
or Select None buttons first. Then click on
individual names to select or deselect the ones
you want to print.
Only selected students will print!

Print Dialogue Box
Click the Print button to send to the printer or
the Done button to return to the Main Screen.

Help
Help is available on-line. Use the Help menu and
choose RCM User Guide or F1 on the keyboard.

This Help manual can be printed out or read on
the computer. It will answer many of the users
questions.
