Notes
  • Floor should be hard wearing and moppable
  • Workbench Area Large cupboards should be
available for storage of helmets/other equipment
under the Workbench and sink. Hatched area has
nothing below it to allow people to sit at the
workbench. Workbench should be at similar height
    to a kitchen worktop
  • Wall behind the workbench is covered with slotted
wall covering allowing shelves/bins for tool
storage to be fitted where needed
  • Sink (Should supply Drinking Water)
  • Outer limit of the space taken up by bikes in
    storage
  • Bar 50mm Ø min, set at approx 2.1m Above ground
level. This allows bikes to be hung by their
saddles for storage. More bikes can then be
stored on the ground under the bikes hung on the
rail. Vertical Supports approximately every 2m
  • Entrance doors. Double doors approx 2.2m high by
2m wide will allow the club trailer to be wheeled
into the workshop if work needs to be done on it
or if the trailer is to be packed the night
before departing on club trips. Doors and locks
should resist attempts to break in as bikes and
cycling equipment and tools are expensive, easily
    stolen and easily sold on
  • The area outside the building should also have
secure fencing in order to allow safe parking of
club trailers and cars outside the building if
    required
  • A tap with a hose and a drain outside the
building will be needed to clean bikes after use
  • Club members will need access to toilet and
    shower facilities in the building
