• Community of Science is one of the worlds most
  comprehensive funding resources, with more than
  22,000 records representing nearly 400,000
  opportunities, worth over 33 billion.
• This site also allows you to search among 500,000
  profiles of researchers from throughout the world.

• COS is a subscription service provided by Auburn
  University. As a member of the Auburn family you
  will have the opportunity to access the website
  as well as create your own user profile so that
  you may begin collaborative work within and
  outside of the University.

Create Your Own User Profile

• When you set up an account with COS you are given
  the chance to create a user profile. I encourage
  all of you to do this so that you can take full
  advantage of everything the site has to offer.
• Becoming a member is simple. Visit the website
  and follow the instructions for new users

How to Search for Funding

• COS makes it easy to find funding opportunities.
• Simply log in and begin by locating the COS
  Funding Opportunities tab.
• This feature allows you to perform a simple
  search for keywords that you are interested in.

Searching Continued

• Once you have located an opportunity you can then
  choose to track it. That way it is added to
  your workbench for easy access.
• Within your workbench you can choose to receive
  email updates about that specific opportunity as
  well as organize potential funding opportunities
  that you have searched for.

Searching COS Expertise

• COS Expertise contains the profiles of
  researchers from over 1,600 institutions.
• You can use this feature to contact faculty
  within the University as well as outside the
  University for potential collaborations.
• You can choose to search by institution,
  geographical location, name, etc.

COS Top Ten Opportunities

• COS is updated daily.
• Each week COS will list the Top Ten
  opportunities which are the top ten viewed
  opportunities throughout the entire site for the
  previous week.

• It is easy to get started and easy to navigate.
• Auburn has a subscription so take advantage of
  it.
• It is the leading site for funding opportunities
  for the sciences, humanities, and fine art.
