TRANSPORT SECTOR RELATIONSHIP TO PRSP
  • Falls under Pillar Two Promoting Pro-Poor
    Sustainable Growth for Food Security and Job
    Creation.
  • The strategy will involve . Effective and
    coordinated linkages and interventions,
    principally, in the productive sectors
    agriculture and fisheries, the infrastructure
    sectors (roads and transportation) .

    city/urban (include all district headquarters

Restructuring of SLRA
  • Establishment of an Independent Road Fund with
    its Independent Board
  • Privatization of Mechanical Services Unit (MSU).

    entire Network.
  • Feeder Roads to be devolved to Local Councils for
    maintenance after rehabilitation/reconstruction.
