Our Question

• How can we combine at least two grant
  requirements to alleviate the frustration of
  teachers being out of their classrooms frequently
  for grade level meetings?

• For the next 40 minutes all participants will
  experience The Tuning Protocol as a tool for
  collaborative work with a team of teachers.

Introduction and Overview

• 3-5 minutes
• Facilitator introduces protocol

Presentation of Student Work

• 10 minutes
• Presenter shares the context for the student
  work, samples of student work, goals, and
  focusing question(s) for the feedback team
• Feedback team is silent at this time

Clarifying Questions

• 3-5 minutes
• Participants ask questions to elicit more
  information and clarify
• Questions should be short
• This is not time to start giving feedback

Reflection Time (in writing)

• 3-5 minutes
• Feedback team reflects on the lesson presented in
  writing.
• Feedback team should focus on their thinking and
  input and pay special attention to the
  question(s) addressed by the presenter

• 10 minutes
• Feedback team shares feedback, and presenter is
  silent (taking notes)
• Feedback team should focus on the question(s)
  provided by presenter
