What is Chocolate?
Chocolate, is a general term for the products of
the seeds of the cocoa or chocolate tree, used
for making beverages or confectionery.
What makes Cadburys Chocolate Special?
Cadburys Chocolate is special. But why? The
answer is its unique taste and style.
While in production cocoa butter is added giving
it a taste different to any other chocolate.

A History Of Cadburys Chocolate Company
1824 Aged 22, John Cadbury, a young Quaker, opens
a small grocers shop in Birmingham- making
chocolate on the sideline.
1879 Cadbury Chocolate Company moves to
Bournville. Over the next ten years the number of
employees grows to 1,200.
1847 John Cadbury moves his business to a larger
factory, as his company becomes The Cadbury
Brothers- his brother Benjamin joining him.
1893 Cadbury Company builds a village for its
employees.
1920s The Cadbury script logo is first used.
Over the next few years many, many different
types of chocolate were made.
1861 John Cadbury retires and sons Richard and
George take over the company.

Which Cadburys product is the most popular?
To answer this question I asked a class of
typical Year Sevens at William Howard Secondary
School what their favourite type of Cadburys
Chocolate is. These are my results.
6
These results show that
  • Dairy Milk, the old classic, is still a
favourite with consumers- beating all newer
    products.
  • The Cadburys Kids Confectionary range ( Freddo,
Taz, Tweety, Curly Whirly, Fudge, Chomp etc.) is
not particularly popular amongst older kids- the
only one appearing in my results Curly Wurly.

I think that Cadbury should stick to promoting
its older products rather than working on new
ones, as older products appear to be more
popular- Cadburys newest standard sized creation
FUSE having not being mentioned at all.

Kids Confectionary
Cadburys Kids Confectionary is a special range
of chocolate products designed specially for
kids. Here are two of my favourites
Freddo Seventy years ago Freddo Frog was
created. A new chocolate kids product was
needed an a chocolate mouse was the first
thought- but when someone pointed out that women
and children might be scared of mice a frog was
decided upon.
Yowie Launched in 1997, Yowie has since become a
favourite with children. Made from Cadbury 'Dairy
Milk' Milk Chocolate, each Yowie contains a Yowie
playmate ( animal figurine)
