Letters to sponsors
  • Reminding them of requirement to have accepted
PP to do any standards work
  • Requesting update/status from PES, BT, PASC
  • Requesting initial PP from others
  • AudCom admin will initiate a myProject block for
the 15 sponsors (not accepted under review) on
    previous slides
  • Will block NesCom, RevCom links in myProject
  • Will clarify if sponsor is alerted to reason

7
What is standards work?
  • OpsMan
  • A Sponsor's PP shall be determined by AudCom to
be visibly under development or accepted by
AudCom before performance of any standards work
(including, but not limited to PAR actions,
Sponsor ballot actions, interpretations, etc.) by
that Sponsor is authorized by the IEEE-SA
    Standards Board to commence.
  • This should not prevent SCC14 from reviewing
    standards for RevCom
  • Refer to ProCom as to if wording change required.

8
Meeting Fee Exemptions
  • Baseline sponsor PP allows meeting fees
  • Many sponsors set fee in their PP
  • Exemptions in PP
  • Many sponsors allow exemptions for hardship
  • Some sponsors allow exemptions for governance
    volunteers
  • E.g., chairs, secretary, editors

9
AudCom Flowchart
  • The AudCom flowchart remained unchanged
  • Clarified that this is for new PP submissions
  • Previously accepted PP are in affect until new
PP approval -- unless AudCom revokes previous
    PP for some reason

10
Sponsor PP submission
  • How to submit?
  • myProject submission
  • Email to AudCom chair
  • Email to AudCom admin
  • Who submits?
  • Sponsor chair
  • Sponsor chair delegate
  • Sponsor member

Should all options be allowed? They currently
are.
11
AudCom Baseline PP revision
  • An ad hoc committee updated the baseline SCC Type
    2 model PP
  • Including hierarchy and submitter text
  • AudCom ballot before next meeting
  • The goal is to develop a single common sponsor
    and SCC PP document.
  • Expecting completion before next meeting.
  • The ad hoc will continue chaired by Ron Petersen,
with Howard Wolfman, Gary Robinson and Matt
    Ceglia.

12
Model PP for Working Groups
  • Sponsor PP reviewed by AudCom often include WG
    PP
  • Recommendation is to separate them out
  • AudCom does not review these or provide a
baseline -- but are arguably the most important
  • AudCom created adhoc to develop a baseline WG PP
    document.
  • AudCom may also suggest the required
    Bylaws/OpsMan changes.

13
Motion
  • Move that SASB approve the following PP actions
  • Visibly under development (standards work
    authorized)
  • Power Engineering Society Technical Council
    Operating Procedures
  • Computer Society Portable Applications
    Standards Committee
  • Under Review (standards work not authorized)
  • BTS/AVTech Audio and Visual Techniques
  • BTS/RFTech RF Techniques
  • SCC41 DySPAN
  • Not accepted (standards work not authorized)
  • AES/EPES Electrical Power/Energy Systems Panel
  • AES/GCS Guidance Control Systems Panel
  • AES/RS Radar Systems Panel
  • DEI/DEI DEI
  • NPS/NPS IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society
  • PEL/ET Electronic Transformers
  • PEL/PEL IEEE Power Electronics
  • SASB/SCC14 SCC14 - Quantities, Units, and Letter
    Symbols
  • SASB/SCC40 SCC40 - Earth Observation
  • UFFC/UFFC IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and
    Frequency Control
