Objectives

    characteristics to support caching studies

    using caching, prefetching, and delta encoding

    behavior that can be modeled to support
    prefetching and push of information
  • Clients behavior has a deterministic component
    that can be used to predict future usage

Modeling proxy traffic

  • Extract the deterministic part using Fourier
    analysis
  • Model the residual using statistical methods
