SUMMER SCHOOL
  • At the high school level, students have only been
    able to take one course in Greenville County
    School District. Thus, if a student fails both
    English and Math, he/she will be classified again
    as a ninth grader.
  • Students may only take a course he/she has
    failed.
  • Students should plan on retaking a failed course
    the immediate summer after the failure.

    family and consumer science instead of a foreign
    language for graduation.

COURSE SELECTION GUIDELINES
  • Students will register for eight units.
  • Teachers will recommend students for English,
    Math, Science, and Social Studies.
  • Students are strongly encouraged to take Physical
    Education as the course is required for
    graduation.
  • Students will choose up to three other electives
    depending on the number of previous teacher
    recommended courses.
  • Students will sign up for three alternate
    choices.

STUDENT REGISTRATION SYSTEM
  • Students will register on the web using the
    districts student registration system.
  • Middle school counselors will be guiding students
    and parents throughout this process.
  • The student/parent window opens on February 25
    and closes on March 7.

DATES TO REMEMBER
  • Signed registration cards and any parent override
    forms will be collected from the middle schools
    by April 11.

COURSE CHANGE REQUEST
  • Be aware that we build the master schedule and
    employ teachers based on students course
    selections therefore, course change requests
    will be considered only in extreme circumstances.

COURSE LEVEL CHANGE REQUESTS
  • The parent will be able to obtain the Course
    Recommendation Parent Override Request Form at
    the middle school by contacting the eighth grade
    counselor.
  • The deadline for this type of request will be set
    by individual middle schools and will NOT be
    accepted at the high school.
