5 Activities for Summertime Parking Lot
Maintenance

  • Winter preparations must begin now that summer is
nearly over! Certain asphalt upkeep tasks are
just so much simpler to complete in warm, dry
weather. So if you own commercial real estate
that includes sidewalks, parking lots, roads, and
parking structures, now is the time to make sure
that everything is in excellent working order
before the arduous winter returns with its
traffic, snow plough, freeze-thaw cycles, and
    de-icers.

1. Apply seal coating to the parking lots
  • When was the last time the seal coating on your
parking spaces was updated? It's time to try it
again if it was two to three years ago. Regular
seal coating, new parking markings, and
directional paint keep your parking lot looking
attractive to customers while also safeguarding
your paving investment from spillage, UV rays,
and other harm. Seal coating avoids large cracks,
more water infiltration, and potholes by filling
tiny cracks and making them water-repellent. This
increases their resistance to the freeze-thaw
cycle. It's a fantastic safety upgrade and a wise
    financial decision.

2. Seal Up Those Holes
  • Parking lots that have been placed properly can
occasionally develop cracks due to traffic
    patterns, weathering, or unforeseen drainage
issues. It is essential to have those gaps filled
as soon as possible to stop them from growing
    into canyons or potholes.

5
3. Keep the Drains Clean
  • Precipitation occurs. It's essential for life,
but it can be difficult on parking lots and can
be difficult on storm drains, which could clog
    without routine de-clogging inspections. Make
sure to inspect and unclog all of the storm
drains and drainage systems during the summer. To
avoid unneeded clogs and damage, make sure the
concrete structures surrounding the drains are in
    excellent condition as well.

6
4. Fill in the Holes
  • Potholes are unpopular. They can harm vehicles,
result in crashes and injuries, etc. No one
enjoys that. Of course, they shouldn't be an
issue if you've been proactive about keeping your
parking lots and roads in the first place.
However, occasionally nature takes its course,
and gaps appear. The less costly and harmful the
repairs are, the quicker you get them done.

7
5. Examine the Transportation Facilities
  • Have any multi-level parking garage structures on
your property routinely evaluated. Have the
stability of the foundation and the complete
    building inspected.
