  • How best to revise.

2
What type of reviser am I?
  • Passive
  • Active

3
Passive Revisers
  • Rely on teacher input.
  • Prefer to revise with others. (This can be
    helpful at times!)
  • Prefer not to construct own revision timetable.
  • Have unstructured revision.
  • Notes may be less than well organised.
  • Try to learn material parrot fashion.
  • Copying out class notes is often the only
    revision method used.

4

  • To block out negative distractions

6

Personal
  • Give yourself rewards
  • Be positive
  • Take proper breaks
  • Ask your teachers for help
  • Be varied in your revision
  • Look for relevant links between topics
  • Practice questions

13
Personal
  • BE REALISTIC - do not attempt to revise for more
than 45 minutes at a stretch - break up your
revision with breaks and rewards. If you give
yourself a 10 minute break between two 45 minute
sessions you will be amazed how much more you
    will achieve

14
Personal
  • Sort out the environment you are going to work
in. MINIMISE STRESS make sure you have everything
you need - files, books , pens, paper etc.
readily to hand. Make sure it's a quiet place,
not stuffy, enough light, refreshments close to
hand - a place where you are comfortable.

15
General Revision Tips
  • Drink Water
  • Eat healthily
  • Take regular exercise
  • Relaxation
  • Avoid stress wherever possible.

16
General hints
  • General hints
  • Believe in yourself. You wouldn't have been
given a place on the course if you didn't have
the ability to do it. Therefore, if you prepare
for the exams properly you should do fine,
meaning that there is no need to worry
    excessively .

17
General hints
  • Be realistic. Success is wonderful, by all means
aim high but keep things in balance. If you
create unrealistic goals, you will only be
disappointed. Aim to do your best and for
yourself, rather than for friends or your
parents. Recognise that none of us can be perfect
    all of the time.

18
General hints.
  • Take steps to overcome problems. Don't battle on
alone, get help from a teacher if you don't
understand a topic. . Get some to help if it all
    gets too much.
  • Confiding in someone you trust and who will be
supportive is a great way of alleviating stress
    and worry.

KEEP IN ALL IN PROPORTION Your GCSE's are
important, but in terms of life the universe and
