  • The favourite of all sports was archery.
  • Victorians played lots of different sports.
  • Victorians started team games like football.
  • A lot of Victorians played cricket.

Sports that came into fashion in the middle of
the Victorian Era.
  • As the Victorian years went on more people began
    to play golf.
  • Croquet was a game that children and adults
    played in their spare time.
  • Lots and lots of sport came into fashion

Outdoor games
  • Most young girls had skipping ropes which were
    very popular at that time.
  • Hoops were a favourite toy over 80 years ago,
    some hoops were made of iron and some were made
    of wood.
  • The hoops were either called bowles or girths.
  • Roller skating was a popular craze.

Hobbies
  • Football was most popular 80 years ago.
  • The first F.A.cup final was in 1901 between
    Tottenham and Sheffield United and was watched by
    110,000 people.
  • Tennis, rugby, boxing, fishing, horse racing were
    also a favourite sport.
  • When the river froze over they went ice skating.

Cycling
  • Cycling became a popular hobby for those who
    could afford a bicycle.
  • Not many children's bicycles were made.
  • Despite their long skirts, women rode bicycles.
  • Cycling clubs were then formed later on in the
    years.

Children Street Games
  • Children made rings out of chalk on the pavement
    and they played marbles in the ring.
  • It was safer to in the street because there were
    less cars around.
  • Some children pushed a hoop with a stick.
  • Most children made up their own games.
