The four key criteria for KTP projects are
  • the proposed project must be of strategic
    importance to the company
  • academic input is essential
  • the graduate employed on the project must be
    stretched
  • the company must be financially viable

Marketing
  • Developing marketing strategies to help science
    and technology based companies e.g. Wessex
    Chemical Factors.
  • Developing the companys skills to do it for
    themselves
  • Use of innovation in WCFs marketing has lead to
    50 increase in sales in 18 months
  • Also creating a significant export programme.

Hope FM
  • Restricted Special Licence (RSL) community radio
    station currently run for two separate periods a
    year by the YMCA in Bournemouth
  • Working to gain a full-time status in the new
    round of community licences being issued early
    next year.
  • KTP Associate involved in training staff, helping
    develop policy and appropriate technology as
    well as focussing the writing of the stations
    application.
  • Described as a model KTP programme by KTP
    regional co-ordinator James Best.

    development of short courses at BMS
  • Evidence to feed into the Skillset backed
    framework for a National Foundation Degree in
    Radio
  • KTP Associate Kevin Mwatchiro wants to develop
    PhD looking at the role of radio in oral history

The processes of KTP have provided

    analysed, talked about and taught
  • unique access to work-based data
  • new research possibilities
  • opportunities to develop the KT agenda (industry
    seminars etc.)
  • recent and relevant experience which can be

Conclusions
Experience with KT has convinced us that
  • creative and media industries are constantly
    changing and Knowledge Transfer is an ideal way
    to support dynamic exchanges between HE and the
    workplace
  • the processes help identify new opportunities for
    research and help refresh both HE and business
    practices
  • new ideas get developed in business
