FACTS ABOUT INKJET PRINTERS Inkjet printers are
non-impact devices. That mean they dont touch
the paper.Droplets of ink 1/3th thinner than a
human hair get fired onto the paper from each
ink nozzle. Many inkjet printers can handle
resolutions of up to 1,200 dots (droplets) per
inch

The most important part of these printers is the
print head. Some printers have the print head
inside the printer which houses the cartridges.
Others have cartridges with a built-in
printhead. These droplets get positioned onto the
paper very accurately. Comparable to dropping a
penny in a street musicians hat from a 30-storey
building. A typical printout has over 2,500 ink
droplets deposited on it from an inkjet printer.

HOW INKJET PRINTERS WORK Rollers inside the
printer feed the paper into position, ready for
printing Inkjet printers send microscopic
droplets of ink that get fired onto the paper
through nozzles in the print head. Date is
received from a computer or via a memory card
inserted into the inkjet printer. The print head
goes into position thanks to a sliding rod and
stepper motor. Epson inkjet printers use a
piezoelectric process to vibrate the ink
through the nozzles.
