The Nine Planets
  • 1. Mercury- This planet is the eighth largest
    planet and is closest to the sun.
  • 2. Venus- This planet is the sixth largest planet
    and is the second from the sun.
  • 3. Earth- This planet is the fifth largest planet
    and is the third from the sun.
  • 4. Mars- This planet is the seventh largest
    planet and is the fourth planet from the sun.
  • 5. Jupiter- This planet is the largest planet and
    is the fifth from the sun.
  • 6. Saturn- This planet is the second largest
    planet and is the sixth from the sun.
  • 7. Uranus- This planet is the third largest
    planet and the seventh from the sun.
  • 8. Neptune- This planet is the fourth largest
    planet and the eighth from the sun.
  • 9. Pluto- This planet is the smallest of all and
    is the farthest from the sun.

    sun, and comets and asteroids.
  • The small planets in the solar system are Earth,
    Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Pluto.
  • The large planets in the solar system are
    Neptune, Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus.
  • The planets that are from historical times are
    Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Mercury, and Venus.
  • The more recent planets discovered modern time
    are Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune.
