INTRODUCTION TO REPELLENTS

• An insect repellent also commonly known as a bug
  spray is a substance that is applied to skin or
  clothes or any other surface which discourages
  insects from  climbing or landing on that
  particular surface. These insect repellents may
  be in the form of a spray, cream or oil that is
  applied to skin in order to prevent the outbreak
  of diseases which are spread from insects such as
  malaria, dengue, plague, etc. Pests that commonly
  serve for diseases are fly, mosquito, flea, tick,
  etc. these insect repellents simply prevents the
  spread of diseases caused by these insects at
  large. Some of the common insect repellents are
  as follows-Birch, Deet, Essential oil of Lemon
  Eucalyptus, Icaridin, Neem Oil, etc.
• Deet is one of the oldest mosquito repellent so
  far. It was developed in the U.S. in the year
  1946 and was first used by the U.S. Army. It is
  made up of coal tar and is considered a very
  powerful solvent and a  synthetic chemical. It is
  a very active ingredient in the insect
  repellents. Its light yellow in colour and is
  used by applying on skin serves as a great
  protection from insects, mosquitoes, leeches,
  ticks, fleas to stick to your skin. Deet free
  repellent is one which does not include Deet as
  an ingredient. Deet free mosquito repellent is
  safe to use. That is why people find deet free
  repellents very safe to use.

USES ADVANTAGES OF REPELLENTS

• These deet free repellents do not kill or harm
  the insects. Nor is it very dangerous. Citriodiol
  is a plant also called the oil of lemon
  Eucalyptus. The Deet involving repellants have a
  very strong smell sometimes unbearable by
  children. That is why many people seek Deet free
  repellants that also do not harm the insects but
  they are looking for something that will simply
  neutralize the strong effects caused by these
  repellants and the insects are still driven away.
