Title: The Kingdom come

1
The Kingdom come
  • Mat 69 So pray this way Our Father in heaven,
    may your name be honored,
  • 610 may your kingdom come, may your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.

2
What will it be like?
  • Isa 22 In the future the mountain of the Lords
temple will endure as the most important of
mountains, and will be the most prominent of
hills. All the nations will stream to it, 23
many peoples will come and say, Come, let us go
up to the Lords mountain, to the temple of the
God of Jacob, so he can teach us his
requirements, and we can follow his standards.
For Zion will be the center for moral
instruction the Lord will issue edicts from
Jerusalem. 24 He will judge disputes between
nations he will settle cases for many peoples.
They will beat their swords into plowshares, and
their spears into pruning hooks. Nations will not
take up the sword against other nations, and they
will no longer train for war.

3
  • Isa 111 A shoot will grow out of Jesses root
stock, a bud will sprout from his roots.112 The
Lords spirit will rest on him a spirit that
gives extraordinary wisdom, a spirit that
provides the ability to execute plans, a spirit
that produces absolute loyalty to the Lord.113
He will take delight in obeying the Lord. He will
not judge by mere appearances, or make decisions
on the basis of hearsay.114 He will treat the
poor fairly, and make right decisions for the
downtrodden of the earth. He will strike the
earth with the rod of his mouth, and order the
wicked to be executed.115 Justice will be like a
belt around his waist, integrity will be like a
    belt around his hips.

4
  • Isa 116 A wolf will reside with a lamb, and a
leopard will lie down with a young goat an ox
and a young lion will graze together, as a small
child leads them along.117 A cow and a bear will
graze together, their young will lie down
together. A lion, like an ox, will eat straw.118
A baby will play over the hole of a snake over
the nest of a serpent an infant will put his
hand.119 They will no longer injure or destroy
on my entire royal mountain. For there will be
universal submission to the Lords sovereignty,
just as the waters completely cover the sea.

5
  • Jer 233 Then I myself will re-gather those of my
people who are still alive from all the countries
where I have driven them. I will bring them back
to their homeland. They will greatly increase in
number. 234 I will install rulers over them who
will care for them. Then they will no longer need
to fear or be terrified. None of them will turn
up missing. I, the Lord, promise it! 235 I, the
Lord, promise that a new time will certainly come
when I will raise up for them a righteous branch,
a descendant of David. He will rule over them
with wisdom and understanding and will do what is
just and right in the land.

6
  • 236 Under his rule Judah will enjoy safety and
Israel will live in security. This is the name he
    will go by
  • The Lord Our Righteousness.
  • 237 So I, the Lord, say A new time will
certainly come. People now affirm their oaths
with I swear as surely as the Lord lives who
delivered the people of Israel out of Egypt.

7
  • 238 But at that time they will affirm them with
I swear as surely as the Lord lives who
delivered the descendants of the former nation of
Israel from the land of the north and from all
the other lands where he had banished them. At
that time they will live in their own land.

8
  • Hos 34 For the Israelites must live many days
without a king or prince, without a sacrifice and
without an image, without ephod or idols. 35
Afterward, the Israelites will turn and seek the
Lord their God and their Davidic king. Then they
will submit to the Lord in fear and receive his
    blessings in the future.

9
  • Psa 721 O God, grant the king the ability to
    make just decisions!
  • Grant the kings son the ability to make fair
    decisions!
  • 722 Then he will judge your people fairly,
  • and your oppressed ones equitably.
  • 723 The mountains will bring news of peace to
    the people,
  • and the hills will announce justice.
  • 724 He will defend the oppressed among the
    people
  • he will deliver the children of the poor
  • and crush the oppressor.

10
  • 725 People will fear you as long as the sun and
moon remain in the sky, for generation after
generation.726 He will descend like rain on the
mown grass, like showers that drench the
earth.727 During his days the godly will
flourish peace will prevail as long as the moon
remains in the sky.728 He will rule from sea to
    sea,
  • and from the Euphrates River to the ends of the
earth! 729 Before him the coastlands will bow
down, and his enemies will lick the dust. 7210
The kings of Tarshish and the coastlands will
offer gifts the kings of Sheba and Seba will
    bring tribute.

11
  • Psa 7211 All kings will bow down to him all
nations will serve him. 7212 For he will rescue
the needy when they cry out for help, and the
oppressed who have no defender. 7213 He will
take pity on the poor and needy the lives of the
needy he will save. 7214 From harm and violence
he will defend them he will value their lives.
7215 And he live! May they offer him gold from
Sheba! They will continually pray for him! They
will pronounce blessings on him all day long!

12
  • 7216 There will be an abundance of grain in the
earth on the tops of the mountains it will sway!
And those of the city shall flourish like the
grass of the earth 7217 His name will endure
forever His dynasty will last as long as the sun
remains in the sky! They will use his name when
they formulate their blessings! All nations will
consider him to be favored by God! 7218 The Lord
God, the God of Israel, deserves praise! He alone
accomplishes amazing things! 7219 His glorious
name deserves praise forevermore! May his
majestic splendor fill the whole earth! We agree!
    We agree!

13
  • Isa 141 The Lord will certainly have compassion
on Jacob he will again choose Israel as his
special people and restore them to their land.
Resident foreigners will join them and unite with
the family of Jacob. 142 Nations will take them
and bring them back to their own place. Then the
family of Jacob will make foreigners their
servants as they settle in the Lords land. They
will make their captors captives and rule over
the ones who oppressed them. 143 When the Lord
gives you relief from your suffering and anxiety,
and from the hard labor which you were made to
perform, 144 you will taunt the king of Babylon
with these words Look how the oppressor has met
    his end! Hostility has ceased!

14
  • 145 The Lord has broken the club of the wicked,
the scepter of rulers.146 he furiously struck
down nations with unceasing blows. He angrily
ruled over nations, oppressing them without
restraint.147 The whole earth rests and is
quiet they break into song.148 The evergreens
also rejoice over your demise, as do the cedars
of Lebanon, singing, Since you fell asleep, no
woodsman comes up to chop us down!

15
  • Rev 201 Then I saw an angel descending from
heaven, holding in his hand the key to the abyss
and a huge chain. 202 He seized the dragon the
ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan and
tied him up for a thousand years. 203 The angel
then threw him into the abyss and locked and
sealed it so that he could not deceive the
nations until the one thousand years were
finished. (After these things he must be released
for a brief period of time.)

16
  • Isa 353 Strengthen the hands that have gone
limp, steady the knees that shake! 354 Tell
those who panic, Be strong! Do not fear! Look,
your God comes to avenge! With divine retribution
He comes to deliver you. 355 Then blind eyes
will open, deaf ears will hear. 356 Then the
lame will leap like a deer, the mute tongue will
shout for joy for water will flow in the desert,
streams in the wilderness. 357 The dry soil will
become a pool of water, the parched ground
springs of water. Where jackals once lived and
sprawled out, grass, reeds, and papyrus will grow.

17
  • 358 A thoroughfare will be there it will be
called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not
travel on it it is reserved for those authorized
to use it fools will not stray into it. 359 No
lions will be there, no ferocious wild animals
will be on it they will not be found there.
Those delivered from bondage will travel on it,
3510 those whom the Lord has ransomed will
return that way. They will enter Zion with a
happy shout. Unending joy will crown them,
happiness and joy will overwhelm them grief and
    suffering will disappear.

18
  • Rev 204 Then I saw thrones and seated on them
were those who had been given authority to judge.
I also saw the souls of those who had been
beheaded because of the testimony about Jesus and
because of the word of God. These had not
worshiped the beast or his image and had refused
to receive his mark on their forehead or hand.
They came to life and reigned with Christ for a
thousand years. 205 (The rest of the dead did
not come to life until the thousand years were
finished.) This is the first resurrection. 206
Blessed and holy is the one who takes part in the
first resurrection. The second death has no power
over them, but they will be priests of God and of
Christ, and they will reign with him for a
    thousand years.
