Wagons
  • The pioneers used Conestoga wagons, covered
    wagons, and trail schooners
  • Most all of the wagons were pulled by ox or
    mules.
  • The diagram you see is of a prairie schooner

Dangers of the Oregon Trail
  • Diseases, Indian attacks, fires, river crossing,
    poisonous plants and animals, death of livestock,
    drought, harsh weather, and death in a family
    are just some of the hazards the pioneers faced.

Foods
  • The pioneers ate bacon, salt, coffee, dried
    fruit, eggs, rice, beans, corn, cornmeal, peas,
    milk, beef, and many types of forgeable
    vegetables.

  • There are many different animals cows, goats, ox,
    horses,dogs and some pigs.
  • These are only some of the animals brought on the
    Oregon trail.

  • Some of the chores the pioneers had were hulling

    game, fishing and cleaning were only some of the
    chores pioneers had.
