What was it all about?

• Why do we farm?
• To produce food
• To produce products other than food
• To make profit for the farmers
• What do we farm?
• Food e.g..
• Maize
• Wheat
• Potatoes
• Sugar beet
• And many more

What we did

• We watched a slideshow by Dr Mitch Crook and
  tried to name 9 different crops.
• Then we discussed about what type of crops
• grow where due to the temperature and amount of
  rainfall they require.

What we learnt

• We learnt about crops all over the world.
• Foods can dominate our culture.
• There are 3 main crop in the world Wheat, Maize
  and Rice
• Different crops need different conditions in
  order to grow the temperature and rainfall affect
  this.
• We all need a staple diet in our life which are
  mostly in your breakfast.

What our group thought about the Easter school?

• Jade It was very good. The best thing I enjoyed
  was going into the pig units and we got to see
  0-12 week old piglets.
• Ben I found the Easter School very interesting.
  I especially enjoyed holding a new-born piglet
  and looking at the bio-mass generator.
• Alice I liked the Easter school especially the
  chemistry in bread where I made some dough.
