Ezekiel 161-14(p. 841)
9Ezekiel 161-14
- An Allegory of Unfaithful Jerusalem
- 1 The word of the LORD came to me 2 Son of
man, confront Jerusalem with her detestable
practices - 3 and say, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD
says to Jerusalem Your ancestry and birth were
in the land of the Canaanites your father was an
Amorite and your mother a Hittite.
10Ezekiel 161-14
- 4 On the day you were born your cord was not
cut, nor were you washed with water to make you
clean, nor were you rubbed with salt or wrapped
in cloths. - 5 No-one looked on you with pity or had
compassion enough to do any of these things for
you. Rather, you were thrown out into the open
field, for on the day you were born you were
despised.
11Ezekiel 161-14
- 6 'Then I passed by and saw you kicking about
in your blood, and as you lay there in your blood
I said to you, Live! - 7 I made you grow like a plant of the field.
You grew up and developed and became the most
beautiful of jewels. Your breasts were formed and
your hair grew, you who were naked and bare.
12Ezekiel 161-14
- 8 'Later I passed by, and when I looked at
you and saw that you were old enough for love, I
spread the corner of my garment over you and
covered your nakedness. I gave you my solemn oath
and entered into a covenant with you, declares
the Sovereign LORD, and you became mine. - 9 'I bathed you with water and washed the
blood from you and put ointments on you.
13Ezekiel 161-14
- 10 I clothed you with an embroidered dress
and put leather sandals on you. I dressed you in
fine linen and covered you with costly garments. - 11 I adorned you with jewellery I put
bracelets on your arms and a necklace around your
neck,
14Ezekiel 161-14
- 12 and I put a ring on your nose, ear-rings
on your ears and a beautiful crown on your head. - 13 So you were adorned with gold and silver
your clothes were of fine linen and costly fabric
and embroidered cloth. Your food was fine flour,
honey and olive oil. You became very beautiful
and rose to be a queen.
15Ezekiel 161-14
- 14 And your fame spread among the nations on
account of your beauty, because the splendour I
had given you made your beauty perfect, declares
the Sovereign LORD.
16Psalm 331-6 (p. 245)
1 Ye righteous, in the LORD rejoice it comely
is and right, That upright men, with thankful
voice, should praise the Lord of might.
17Psalm 331-6 (2/4)
3 A new song to him sing, and play with loud
noise skilfully 4 For right is GODs word, all
his works are done in verity.
18Psalm 331-6 (3/4)
5 To judgment and to righteousness a love he
beareth still The loving-kindness of the
LORD the earth throughout doth fill.
19Psalm 331-6 (4/4)
6 The heavens by the word of GOD did their
beginning take And by the breathing of his
mouth he all their hosts did make.
20SermonEzekiel 14 - 17 GODS HEART FOR THE
EXILES
211 Gods Heart is in His Message to Israel
- Ezekiel 14-17 a challenge to stop grieving
Gods heart. - 14 Gods truth is not pick-and-mix, with
disposable parts. - The Lord will speak directly to YOUR heart from
his and will change your heart.
Babylon as it would have appeared
222 Gods Heart is displayed in three allegories
- Ezekiel 15 A fruitless vine.
- Ezekiel 16 An abandoned baby, who becomes first
a princess, and then a prostitute. - God is devastated but has a plan for Israel and
her sisters (1663). - Ezekiel 17 The eagle Babylon.
Then I passed by and saw you kicking about in
your blood, and as you lay there in your blood I
said to you, Live!
233 Gods Heart is displayed in Jesus
- Matthew 1331-32 He told them another parable
The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed,
which a man took and planted in his field.
Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet
when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants
and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air
come and perch in its branches.
24Psalm 119105-112 (p. 163)
105 Your words a lamp that shines before my
feet It is a light that guides me on my
way. 106 The oath that I have taken Ive
confirmed That all your righteous laws I will
obey.
25Psalm 119105-112 (2/4)
107 O LORD, you know that I have suffered
much Preserve my life according to your
word. 108 Accept the willing praises of my
mouth Instruct me in your righteous laws, O
LORD.
26Psalm 119105-112 (3/4)
109 I will not disregard your holy law, Though
constantly my life is in my hands. 110 Although
the wicked set a snare for me, I have not left
the path of your commands.
27Psalm 119105-112 (4/4)
111 Your statutes are my heritage always, And
every day they make my heart rejoice. 112 My
heart is set on keeping your decrees, And to the
very end they are my choice.

36WHEN I SURVEY
When I survey the wondrous cross On which the
Prince of glory died, My richest gain I count
but loss, And pour contempt on all my pride.
37WHEN I SURVEY
Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast, Save in
the death of Christ my God All the vain things
that charm me most, I sacrifice them to His
blood.
38WHEN I SURVEY
See from His head, His hands, His feet, Sorrow
and love flow mingled down Did eer such love
and sorrow meet, Or thorns compose so rich a
crown?
39WHEN I SURVEY
Were the whole realm of Nature mine, That were
an offering far too small Love so amazing, so
divine, Demands my soul, my life, my all!
