Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships
  • Other terms
  • Dual Enrollment
  • Dual Credit
  • Students have the opportunity to earn credit for
    college courses prior to high school graduation
    while concurrently earning credit toward high
    school graduation.
  • Courses are taught at the high school by high
    school teachers during the high school day.

CEPs continued
  • Courses, textbooks and instructors are approved
    by the college
  • No extra work is required on the part of the
    student.
  • Students enrolled in the college course receive
    an official college transcript.

CEPs are NOT
  • Programs in which the high school student travels
    to the college campus to take courses prior to
    graduation either during the academic year or
    during the summer
  • Programs where college faculty travel to the high
    school to teach college courses to high school
    students
  • AP IB programs where standardized tests are
    used to assess students knowledge of a
    curriculum developed by a committee consisting of
    both college and high school faculty.

Course Approval Process
  • Facilitated by the Project Running Start
    Coordinator
  • College course objectives (as stated in Course
    Content Outline) are included in high school
    curriculum
  • Textbooks, lab manuals and equipment are either
    those used by the college or are approved by the
    college department chair

Course Approval Continued
  • High School and College Faculty Partners meet to
    discuss course outcomes
  • Completed Course Approval Form, Teachers Resume
    Transcripts, and Course Syllabus must be
    submitted to Project Running Start Coordinator
  • Appropriate Dept Chair and Vice President of
    Academic Affairs sign Course Approval Form
  • Once the course is approved, students are
    eligible to register.

Transferability of NHCTC Credits
  • Official Transcript sent to the college or
    university the student is attending.
  • A course grade of C or higher is required for
    transfer credit
  • Only credits are transferred, not grade point
    average (GPA)

  • Students intended major may determine which
    general education and degree major courses are
    eligible for transfer credit.

    (Microbiology, College Composition, Intro to
    Business)
  • It would be beneficial to offer more of these
    courses in the high school.

  • Excellent way to take care of a gen ed before
    freshman year.
  • Very helpful. I can now skip Freshman English
    and take a class I want instead.
  • Im four credits ahead of everyone else. Its
    great!
  • This really helped me prepare for college and
    definitely gave me an advantage.
