  • An Eastern Chipmunk has black and white stripes
    down its back and tail.
  • They use their buck teeth to open nuts and seeds.
  • Their cheeks are fat because they carry all their
    food in pouches inside them.
  • Their body is 5-7 long and their tail is 3-4
    long. They are usually 2-5 oz.

Diet
  • They eat worms, snails, mushrooms, seeds, nuts,
    fruits, acorns, bird eggs, and insects.
  • Whenever they eat they eat head first.
  • When they find their food they store it in
    burrows so they can eat it later.

  • If a female chipmunk sees another chipmunk she
    will chase it away.
  • The only way for it to be safe is to hide.
  • During the day they go hunting for food and
    during the night they sleep.
  • They make their homes in trees, burrows and
    sometimes in stonewalls.
