  • Egypt is located in the Sahara Desert. It
    is east of Libya and north of Sudan. The
    Mediterranean sea is north of it. The Nile River
    runs through it. The capital is Cairo.

HIEROGLYPHICS
  • Hieroglyphics are the Egyptian picture
    writing. They were used to express sound and
    ideas as well as told stories, recorded religious
    rites and documented commerce money and trade.
    There were pictograms, ideograms idea sign, and
    phonogram signs that represent a sound of one,
    two or three consonants.

DRAWING
  • The Egyptians used six different colors
    while painting. They used red, green, blue,
    yellow ,black, and white. During the Old Kingdom,
    it took great pains to make pictures.

CLOTHING
  • Men and women wore blue and green eyeshadow
    and black kohl eyeliner when they dressed fancy.
    They also wore it because it helped to keep the
    glare the glare of sunlight down.
  • Egyptians wore tunics that came down to the
    knees for men and the ankles for women. They
    were nearly always white. They usually always
    went barefoot.

FARMING
  • Egyptians were one of the first to start
    farming, probably around 10,000 BC. They mainly
    grew wheat and barley. They also ate meat, though
    they refused to eat pork. For dessert they ate
    dates.

PYRAMIDS
  • The ancient Egyptians built pyramids as
    tombs for their pharaohs and queens. They were
    buried from before the Old Kingdom to the end of
    the Middle Kingdom.

GODS AND GODDESSES
  • The Egyptians were polytheistic, which meant
    they believed in more that one god. Some of their
    names are Anubis, Ra, Isis, and Thoth.
  • Anubis was the god of the dead.
  • Ra was the god of the sun.
  • Isis was a protective goddess.
  • Thoth was the god of writing and
    knowledge.

  • The games the Egyptians played were Senet
    a board game and Perw a checkered board of 3
    rows and 10 squares.
