3Informal Lyme-Autism Study
- IFA and Western Blot IgG and IgM were performed
by IgeneX Inc. - Patients were NOT screened. The criteria was
that the child needed an autism, pdd-nos or
aspergers diagnosis PLUS some sort of immune
dysfunction. - It was attempted to get matching controls for
each child. - Samples were taken from CA, NV, AZ, IL,NY, NJ,
WI, TX.
4Informal Lyme-Autism Study
Testing Methods/Criteria
- 19 autistic samples were obtained and 5 controls
- Positive result would indicate one or more
borrelia specific bands testing positive. - Ambiguous result would indicate 2 or more
indeterminate bands which are borrelia specific.
(this would indicate a possible re-test after a
treatment trial.)
