This is called liaison. Liaison occurs most often
with "r" sound . When a word ending with "r" or
"re" goes before a word beginning with a vowel
sound ,the sound /r/ is usually pronounced as a
    link.
  • Listen to the tape and supply the missing words.

Part C Additional Listening
  • Exercise
  • Listen and decide whether the following
    statements are true or false.
  • Notes In many countries, the bank account is
divided into the checking account and the savings
account. You can use the money in the checking
account to pay for things you buy, but you cannot
use the money in the savings account unless you
transfer it into the checking account. You cannot
get interest from the money in the checking
account instead, you have to pay a modest fee
for the services provided by the bank. So
checking or savings? is the question the bank
clerk will probably ask you when you want to open
    an account in the bank.
