    passed and is now out looking for his father.
  • bud is an orphan who ran away.
  • he is very skinny.
  • he has rules he follows.
  • he doesnt like people to mess with his suit
    case .
  • He has a friend he lost in flint.
  • he has a picture of his mom in his suit case.

Theme
  • The theme is bud trying to find his dad but
    instead he finds his mothers dad, his
    grandfather.
  • Bud should not of assumed Herman was his father.
    He should of told him who his mother was and
    showed him a picture and asked if he knew her.

Plot
Bud is a foster child. Bud ran away.

Bud left
his friend on a train in flint. He went looking
for his dad Herman. He lived with Herman and his
band. He found out Herman was his grandpa.

Setting
The setting is at Hermans house. He lives in a
white house. Bud has to stay at his house. He
sleeps in Herman's daughter room. (His moms
room.) Herman daughters room is full of horses.

The Great Depression
During the Great depression very few people had
jobs. No job led to no money to buy food, so many
people were starving. People were depressed
because there were no jobs. It lasted from
1929 -1939.In1993 11,000 banks failed. (out of
25,000 banks.) The stock market dropped. During
the time Franklin D. Roosevelt was the president.
