Fact or Opinion?
  • Prospectors should have the right tools to do
    their jobs well.
  • Gold miners used a pan and water to separate gold
    from dirt.
  • Most women who came to the gold fields did not
look for gold. They cared for their families,
grew vegetable gardens, or took jobs in nearby
towns. Women sometimes made money cooking or
doing laundry for miners. I think working in the
mines would have been the most exciting way to
    earn a living.
