Joining the RCN is the best, and most important,

  claims of professional negligence during clinical
  placements for up to 3 million
• Good samaritans clause to protect any member
  going to the assistance of someone at a roadside
  accident, or helping someone who appears in need
  of urgent medical attention
• Free legal advice for 30 minutes on matters not
  connected to work
• Support of numerous activists, including
  professionally trained stewards, who ensure the
  rights of members are fully protected

  professional advice through RCN Direct a
  telephone information, advice and support service
  available from 8.30am to 8.30pm, 365 days a
  year
• Support, advice and representation from Local
  Stewards who are supported by the Regional office
  and Regional Officers
• RCN Careers Service provides practical telephone
  guidance and help with job applications, CVs and
  interview skills
• RCN Welfare Service provides confidential advice
  on practical financial-related matters such as
  debt counselling and money management
