President John Kennedy
1888PressRelease - A creative group of senior
Nashville artists has just released "JFK 50 A
Memorial Album" which honors and remembers
President John Kennedy on the approaching 50th
anniversary of his death. Nashville producer and
two time Grammy winner, J. Aaron Brown, says the
album is "a folksy blend of songs and narrations
that will touch the hearts of all who experienced
that tragic day in November 1963." Washington,
DC-MD-VA-WV - An experienced and creative group
of Nashville artists has just released "JFK 50 A
Memorial Album" which honors and remembers
President John Kennedy on the 50th anniversary of
his death by assassination. "JFK 50" includes
eight original folk songs and four interspersed
tracks of recreated radio newscasts which take
the listener back emotionally to the black day
that changed world history, November 22, 1963.
The album features country/folk vocalist
Charlie Barnes, producer/guitarist Jerry Webb,
vocalist Joyce Jewell, harmonica player Joe
Pointer, and producer/writer Dan Jewell. These
senior artists lived through those tragic days in
1963 and that experience can be sensed in their
poignant and memorable performances. Nashville
Producer and two time Grammy winner J. Aaron
Brown says, "My lifelong friend Dan Jewell and
his talented creative team have recorded a very
sensitive and accurate account of the events
surrounding the life and death of President John
F. Kennedy. A folksy blend of songs and
narrations that will touch the hearts of all who
experienced that tragic day in November 1963.
This documentation is well presented in the new
'JFK 50 Memorial Album,' a must for history buffs
and JFK fans around the world."

The initial track on the album is Barnes'
rendition of the chilling "The End of November,
1963," which evokes the fear and disillusionment
people felt when they heard the news that JFK had
been assassinated. "Kennedy's death," says
Barnes, "was a powerful international event, but
back then it seemed to touch all of us
personally." Besides the initial track, Barnes
sings "When the News Came Through," "The Golden
Cup," "The Day Jack Kennedy Died," "I Got My
Dreams Just Like You, "He Was Born to Live," and
"Hero." Brief recreations of radio newscasts
from November 1963, provide a narrative line and
underscore the emotional impact of the music. The
concept album's finale is Joyce Jewell's moving
reprise of "The Golden Cup" which captures the
mix of hope, tragedy, inspiration, grief, and
unfilled promise that JFK has come to symbolize
to most Americans." Listeners can sample the
album's music on the album website and on You
Tube by viewing the haunting video "That Black
Day, November 22, 1963," which features the song
"He Was Born to Live." CD Baby is distributing
