Ingredients
Chinese Hot Mustard
Basic Country Mustard
  • Dry Mustard (Powder)
  • Sugar
  • Boiling Water
  • Vegetable Oil
  • You will need a medium sauce pan, measuring
    spoons, measuring cup, and a mixing spoon.
  • Yellow Mustard Seed
  • Mustard Powder
  • Cold Water
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Salt
  • You will need a mortar and pestle, measuring
    spoons, measuring cup, and a mixing spoon.

Chinese Hot Mustard
Step 1 Measure out 1/4 cup of dry mustard. Mix
in 1 teaspoon of sugar and 2 teaspoons of
vegetable oil.

Chinese Hot Mustard
Step 2 Stir in 1/4 cup boiling water. Mix
mixture thoroughly. Put mixture into a
container. Let stand for 8 hours before serving.
Store in refrigerator.

Basic Country Mustard
Step 1 Grind 2 tablespoons of mustard seed to
desired texture (there is no correct
texture)using a mortar and pestle. Mix the
ground mustard with 1/4 cup brown or yellow
mustard powder.

Basic Country Mustard
Step 2 Mix mustard seed and powder with 1/4 cup
cold water. Let this mixture sit for 10 minutes.
Add in 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and
1 teaspoon of salt.

Basic Country Mustard
Step 3 Blend well with a mixing spoon. Pour
mixture into a container. Refrigerate overnight
before using.
