  • Used to check whether states are challenging
    their students
  • This year all states required to take test in
    order to receive govt. funding

  • Evaluated areas such as probability, algebra and
    reasoning
  • 77 students at basic level or higher
  • Improvement from year to year

  • Performance holds steady
  • Two thirds of students still not proficient
  • Reading can be more heavily influenced by outside

  • Culture of television watched
