Outdoor Club Activities
In addition to working on the infrastructure of
the trout nursery, students participated in a
variety of activities. Some of those were after
school, some on weekends, and some during the
daily activity period.

Tying Demonstration
Jeff Buchheit, local Orvis shop owner, does a
tying demonstration.
During the winter months the club was divided
into two groups. One group did feeding,
monitoring and routine maintenance. The other
group took fly tying lessons.

Stocking
3-25-05 Club members and sponsors assisted PA
Fish Boat Commission stocking First Fork of
Sinnemahoning.

Float Stocking
3-25-05 Members assist Mr. Fordoski and Mr.
Neeper in attaching baskets for float stocking
First Fork.

Stevenson Dam
Two members of the club and sponsors floating the
Forty Maples section of First Fork on their way
to Stevenson Dam.

Fall Stocking 2005
11-05-05 Kayla Yetzer and Rebecca Aul check the
rigging on float baskets. Club members float
stocked 3,000 fingerling trout on the West Branch
of the Susquehanna.

Mr. Ron King, Weyerhaeuser, gives Mr. Fordoski
and Outdoor Club students an orientation to the
paper mill operation prior to entering the

automatic feeders, and clean out system.

11-21-05 The nursery monitors pH and temperature
automatically. The water temperature was 39 F.
Fish fed aggressively.

fish ladder which enables fish to move up stream
to spawn or to seek cool water on the East Branch
of the Clarion.
