The Restaurant
  • Robert Blake and his wife Bonny Lee Bakley went
to dine a Vitellos which is an Italian
restaurant in Los Angeles. This was one of
Blakes favorite restaurants. He was known to eat
there a few times a week over the past 20 years.
This restaurant was known to the locals as a
highly rated family-owned eatery, that served
some of the best Italian food in the San Fernando
    Valley.

4
Inside Vitellos
  • When Mr. Blake and his wife got inside of the
restaurant they were seated at a booth near the
rear of the restaurant which wasnt his usual
corner booth, although they were still visible to
the other dining patrons. Both Mr. Blake and his
wife Bonny ate and drank a few glasses of wine.

5
Exist the Restaurant
  • Sometime between 930 and 940 pm Mr. Blake and
Bonny left the restaurant. They both walked back
to the 91 black Dodge Stealth. After letting
Bonny into the car Blake realized that he had
left a handgun at the restaurant. Blake carried
this licensed handgun because his wife had
suspicion of someone trying to kill her. Blake
walked backed to the restaurant to retrieve the
    gun

Crime Scene
  • Upon his return to the car Blake found Bonny
slumped over in the passenger seat, unconscious
and bleeding from the gunshot wound to her head.
After he found Bonny shot in the car he rushed to
a nearby friends house to get help. His friend
Sean Stanek went back to the scene to assist him.
Stanek found Bonny in the same state. He applied
pressure to her wound as Blake went back to the
    restaurant for help.

Witnesses
  • The police interviewed Andrew Percival and his
wife who also dined at the same restaurant that
night. They said they saw a man dressed in black
who they believed looked like Blake. They also
said they saw the same man walk past them very
briskly toward a car parked behind a dumpster.
Police traveled to more than 20 states and
interviewed more than 150 witnesses to prepare
    for this case.

8
Evidence
  • A Walther PPK was found in the garbage not to far
from the crime scene with its serial number
    shaved off.

9
Key facts
  • Blake had been eating at Vitellos for 20 years
without making reservations. But on this night of
    the murder he made reservations.
  • An assumed motive for Bonny Lee Bakley murder was
that she got pregnant in order to make Blake
marry her. Also it was said that Bakley used to
scam lonely men into a false relationship in
    order gain financial wealth.
  • Celebriphiliac- this is a word that was used to
describe Bonny Lee Backley condition where she
was only attracted to famous men.
  • She herself always wanted to be famous. But since
she never reach that goal she just settled with
    being with a famous person.

10
Acquittal
  • In March 2005, after deliberating for nine days,
the jury found Robert Blake not guilty. When
questioned by news reporters, several of the
jurors said that the prosecution failed to link
him to the crime. There were no fingerprints, gun
residue, or blood evidence to tie Blake to the
murder. Nearly four years after the killing the
case concluded with Blake going free and leaving
    a case unsolved.
  • Mr. Blake was order in to pay 30 million to
Bonnys kids from the outcome of his civil case.
