Life Applications
  • God is in charge of the universe.
  • God will provide answers in His time.
  • God uses our suffering to bring about a more
    intimate relationship with Him.
  • God will make all things right in the end.

30
God is in Charge of the Universe
  • Heres a simple fact
  • The universe does not revolve around us! It
    revolves around God!

31
Don Baker
  • Lifes Hidden Purpose
  • Satans goal was not to destroy Job it was to
    discredit God.

32
Rick Warren
  • The Purpose Driven Life
  • How do you know when the silver is pure?
  • When I see my reflection in it.

33
Life Applications
  • God is in charge of the universe.
  • God will provide answers in His time.
  • God uses our suffering to bring about a more
    intimate relationship with Him.
  • God will make all things right in the end.

34
Reasons God Does Not Answer the Suffering
Question
  • We are not capable of comprehending the answer.
  • It would ruin the test if we knew the answer in
    advance.
  • The book of Job teaches us not to expect simple
    answers when were in difficulty.

35
Job 421-5
  • 42 Then Job replied to the Lord 2 I know that
you can do all things no plan of yours can be
thwarted. 3 You asked, Who is this that obscures
my counsel without knowledge? Surely I spoke of
things I did not understand, things too wonderful
for me to know. 4 You said, Listen now, and I
will speak I will question you, and you shall
answer me. 5 My ears had heard of you but now
    my eyes have seen you.

36
Life Applications
  • God is in charge of the universe.
  • God will provide answers in His time.
  • God uses our suffering to bring about a more
    intimate relationship with Him.
  • God will make all things right in the end.

37
Max Lucado
  • A season of suffering is a small price to pay
for a clear view of God.

38
Job 426
  • 6 Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust
    and ashes.

39
Don Baker
  • Lifes Hidden Purpose
  • Something happens when God reveals himself to
man. Adam hid Abraham fell prostrate on the
ground Moses covered his face Isaiah repented
of his unclean lips Daniel went into a trance
and had a vision Saul of Tarsus fell to the
    ground and now Job repents.
  • All of our arguments cease when God makes an
    appearance.

40
The Word Complain
  • Found more times in the book of Job than in any
    other book in the Bible!

41
Job 4210-11
  • 10 After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord
made him prosperous again and gave him twice as
much as he had before. 11 All his brothers and
sisters and everyone who had known him before
came and ate with him in his house. They
comforted and consoled him over all the trouble
the Lord had brought upon him, and each one gave
him a piece of silver and a gold ring.

42
Job 4212-13
  • 12 The Lord blessed the latter part of Jobs life
more than the first. He had fourteen thousand
sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of
oxen and a thousand donkeys. 13 And he also had
    seven sons and three daughters.

43
J. Vernon McGee
  • Job really didnt lose his other 10 children.
They were in heaven awaiting him, so that when
Job got to heaven, then hes going to have 20
    children.

44
Job 4214
  • 14 The first daughter he named Jemimah, the
second Keziah and the third Keren-Happuch.
  • Paraphrase Bible
  • The first daughter he named Dove, the second he
named Cinnamon. The third he named Dark Eyes.

45
Job 4215-17
  • 15 Nowhere in all the land were there found women
as beautiful as Jobs daughters, and their father
granted them an inheritance along with their
    brothers.
  • 16 After this, Job lived a hundred and forty
years he saw his children and their children to
the fourth generation. 17 And so he died, old and
    full of years.

46
Life Applications
  • God is in charge of the universe.
  • God will provide answers in His time.
  • God uses our suffering to bring about a more
    intimate relationship with Him.
  • God will make all things right in the end.

47
Hebrews 116
  • 6 And without faith it is impossible to please
God, because anyone who comes to him must believe
that he exists and that he rewards those who
    earnestly seek him.

48
Mother of Steve Fair
  • Steve, dont be angry at God. He is good and He
still loves us. Its our time to walk in the
valley, and even in my pain you must not be mad
at God. Steve, what youve preached all these
years, its all in vain if you do not believe
    what you say you believe.

49
1 Peter 16-7
  • 6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a
little while you may have had to suffer grief in
    all kinds of trials.
  • 7 These have come so that your faithof greater
worth than gold, which perishes even though
refined by firemay be proved genuine and may
result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus
    Christ is revealed.

50
R.C. Sproul
  • God promises a new body a life without pain,
but not now. Now, He promises me the opposite.
He tells me In the world I will have
tribulation. But God promises His presence in
the midst of pain and until that last enemy is
finally destroyed, we must walk by faith.
  • Faith without patience is an insult to the Lord
of history. Ill get my new body, but not just
    yet.

51
Jobs Key to Holding On
  • I know that my redeemer lives, and in the end,
He will stand upon the earth.

He will stand upon the earth.
