We all know that the playground is the most
natural place for a young child while growing up
and being involved in activity is a natural
instinct that comes from a young age. It is not
taught to us but genetically inherited and
present in our young ones but these activities
are dying out. Even if kids have the time and the
desire to be active, parents may not feel
comfortable letting them freely roam the
neighborhood as kids once did. So their
opportunities might be limited. The
government's physical activity guidelines
recommend that children and teens do an hour or
more of moderate-intensity to vigorous activity a
day. The medicine institute advises that at
least 30 minutes, or about half the daily
physical activity, be done during the school day.
However, only 17 of students are meeting the
goal of target of 60 minutes a day. Head
teachers asked, How can schools get children
more active without breaking their budgets? They
cant. The increase on teachers, lack of funds
and cut backs means parents need to step in and
get their own children active.

What might not be apparent is that activities
releases endorphins in the body that are the
bodys natural feel good chemicals, and when they
are released through exercise, your mood is
boosted naturally.  As well endorphins, activity
also releases adrenaline, serotonin, and
dopamine.  These chemicals work together to make
you feel good and increase attention and activity
in the brain. There are a few simple steps to
help keep your child focused and happy, even if
youre not around. Taking part in some adventure
cycling or booking activity holidays rather than
your normal beach holiday can be a really fun way
for the whole family to get active.
Activity holidays are not expensive and
can sometimes be far cheaper than your average
package holiday deal and include all the
equipment you require. Booking holiday rentals
directly with the owners has become increasingly
popular as people realize they can skip out the
agent and book directly, saving hundreds off the
cost of a holiday.

If you can ride a
bike then adventure cycling is a great way to
start getting active. Saddle up and peddle your
way around the coastline, family in tow, stop for
a picnic, sunbathe and more. Adventure cycling is
one of the most popular activity holidays taken
in the UK and businesses are cashing in. Hotels
and apartment owners are letting their properties
as holiday rentals to get extra income in the
current credit crisis. An average weekend stay
can earn the property owner a few hundred pounds
and equally save the customer money, so this is
winning.
By getting the whole family involved on an
holiday will create a solid grounding for your
child that exercise and activities are fun and
above all, normal. Lying by the pool sipping Pina
colada sounds good but your child wants to be
active with you, so bonding and creating
important memories for later life can increase
the chances they continue down this path.

Whatever your childs fitness personality, all
kids can be physically fit. A parent's positive
attitude will help a child who's reluctant to
exercise. You need to be involved too. If your
child is not the type to run around, thats fine,
find something they are interested in like horse
riding lessons. There
are many horse riding centers that will cater for
complete beginners, supply the hats and boots so
you have no excuses not to get them on the
saddle. This type of activity will help to keep
your child focused and because its an interest
to them they will get active without even knowing
about it.
Horse riding lessons increases strong
muscles and bones, controls weight, and decreases
the risk of developing type two diabetes, aids
better sleep, a better outlook on life and more.
You can quickly see why this hour-long activity
can be a great benefit for not only your childs
confidence but also wellbeing. Healthy,
physically active kids will be more academically
motivated, alert, and successful in the
classroom. Physical competence builds self-esteem
at every age even in older life, so bypass the
pool holiday this summer and book activity
holidays, it could make your childs pass a
distinction.
