Conflict Is Common In Teenagers
The door to success swings on the hinges of
opposition.- in Ben Franklins words. Thus
conflict is indispensable and can only be
resolved tactfully. There can be various causes
of conflicts among the teenagers. The conflicts
can be resolved if the parents take care of few
important things.
3
Avoid Unnecessary Conflict
Parents can take care of their teenaged children
by avoiding unnecessary conflicts. They will
definitely oppose addiction issues like drug and
alcohol or worse choice of friends. But trivial
issues can be left to them to learn lessons from
their own and grow up.
4
Choose Words Wisely
When you are arguing with your child, you should
always be careful about the choice of words. You
may act with the teenager just the way you should
have behaved with an adult. They can get hurt or
emotional by wrong choice of words.
5
Negotiate And Compromise
Negotiation in conflict resolution is very
important. There can be different views of yours
and your teenaged children. But you cannot always
oppose them as your views are not matching.
Negotiation and compromise is required for a
healthy relationship.
6
Let Go Off The Past
If a problem is solved, try to forget that
incident and do not drag them in future. When the
parents are allowing a scope to the teenagers to
learn from the past, they must know that the
children need appropriate time to change. You
cannot refer from the past incident and ruin the
opportunity to change.
7
Show Your Authority Rightly
Be authoritative where you need to. This does not
mean you can use force to apply your own
decision. You can be assertive in difficult
situation where your child needs help.
