Lesson 1 Bat Facts

• Students will
• talk about what they know about bats.
• investigate stories of bats (fiction and non).
• learn the differences similarities of bats and
  birds.
• gather true information about bats and put
  together picture and information pages on bats
  and formulate a class book on bats.

  and educate the public

• MN home to 7 bat species
• 4 cave-dwellers 3 foliage-roosting
• Feed on flying insects
• Natural insect controllers

Lesson 2 Bat-hearing Bat World North Star
Presentation

• Students will
• rely on their hearing to locate their fellow
  class mates.
• learn how bats locate prey.
• expend energy by playing Bat Moth game.
• gain a deeper understanding about bats from the
  Bat World North Star presentation

Lesson 3 Bat Parts

• Students will
• learn the anatomy of bats and complete worksheet
  on bat anatomy in groups of two.
• construct a bat by following written
  instructions.
• write one paragraph telling the class about your
  bat.
• practice coloring, cutting and stapling skills.
