• On 20 June 2008, actual simulations of arrival
  procedures was carried out. The simulation
  includes testing of aerobridges and baggage
  conveyor for which PAL has agreed to deploy one
  Airbus A340 aircraft from its international fleet
  for the simulation of a 350 passenger arrival and
  departure.
• MIAA begin servicing domestic flights of Cebu
  Pacific, PAL and Air Philippines starting 23 July
  2008. Handling international flights will be
  started next year.
• With a capacity of 13 million passengers a year,
  the new terminal will relieve crowding at the
  domestic airport, which handles more than five
  (5) million passengers.

• As per 01 August 2008 letter of Gov. Carlito
  Marquez of Aklan, the Provincial Government of
  Aklan has initiated negotiations with the owners
  of the property affected and draw some positive
  terms from the lot owners. As per report from
  Kalibo Airport Manager, a meeting with lot owners
  was held on 05 August 2008, on which the lot
  owners agreed to sell their lots. An additional
  Php 16 Million is still needed for the ROW
  acquisition. DOTC is now looking for the source
  of funds to cover payment for lot acquisition.
• Overall accomplishment is 91.18. These includes
  site acquisition, site development,
  rehabilitation and installation of ILS equipment,
  construction of equipment shelter and
  installation of runway/taxiway edge lights.

Collation of pertinent documents already
completed. The LUC Application was already
submitted to DAR Central Office on 07 January
2008. DAR Central Office officials had conducted
site inspection on 21-23 May 2008. DAR requested
additional documents from DOTC prior to the
approval of LUC. On 30 June 2008, DOTC Secretary
forwarded the statement required by DAR to the
Office of DAR Secretary Nasser R. Pangandaman.
