2008 Chomsky Award WinnerDavid Gil

• Professor of Social Policy,The Heller School for
  Social Policy and Management, Brandeis
  University
• Professor Gil studies and teaches societal roots
  and dynamics of violence and oppression, links
  between social institutions and human
  development, the nature and dynamics of social
  policy, and strategies to transform social orders
  into development-conducive ways of life.

  Professor of Journalism at the CUNY Graduate
  School of Journalism.
• Termed "the most honest and incisive media critic
  writing today in the National Catholic Reporter,
  and author of the smartest and funniest
  political journal out there, in The San
  Francisco Chronicle, Alterman is frequent
  lecturer and contributor to numerous publications
  in the US, Europe and Latin America. In recent
  years, he has also been a columnist for Worth,
  Rolling Stone, Mother Jones, and The Sunday
  Express (London).
