  • Leadership is the capacity and will to rally
  • men and women to a common purpose
  • and the character which inspires
  • confidence.

LEADERSHIP ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES
  • JOSHUA 4
  • First and foremost be spiritual.
  • Joshua was in constant contact with God and God
    exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel. You
    are in contact with God often.

  • Have a heart.
  • This is a leader who has been given the
  • Leadership and guidance of the Holy Spirit to
  • Meet daily challenges. You are guided by God.
  • Barak was a leader guided by the Holy Spirit.

21 INDISPENSABLE QUALITIES OF A LEADER
  • 1. CHARACTER
  • The leader exhibits integrity, maturity and
  • an abundance mentality. Followers do not trust
    leaders whose character they know to be flawed,
    and they will not continue following them. The
    key to success is character.

CHARISMA/OTHERMINDEDNESS
  • The ability to draw people to you.
  • You need to like people, love life, see good in
    people and give people hope.
  • Share yourself wisdom, resources, and even
    special occasions
  • Stay away from the following

  • Insecurity

COMMITMENT
  • It is the enemy of resistance. It is the serious
    promise to press on, to get up, no matter how
    many times you are knocked down.

COMMUNICATION
  • The leader must be able to share knowledge and
    ideas to transmit a sense of urgency and
    enthusiasm to others.
  • Its not just what you say but how you say it.
  • Simplicity is the key to effective communication.
    Be clear.

  • Its the leaders ability to say it, plan it and
    do it in such a way that others know that you
    know howand know that they want to follow you.
  • CULTIVATE COMPETENCE
  • 1. Show up every day
  • 2. Keep improving.
  • 3.Follow through with excellencequality.
  • 4. Accomplish more than expectedgo the extra
  • mile.
  • 5. Inspire others.

COURAGE
  • It is rightly esteemed the first of human
    qualities because it is the quality which
    guarantees all others.
  • Courage is not an absence of fear.
  • To improve courage speak in front of an
    audience, face the music, do something daring.

RESPONSIBILITY
  • Success on any major scale requires you to accept
    responsibility.
  • The one quality that all successful people have
    is the ability to take on responsibility.
  • Responsible people
  • 1. Get the job done.
  • 2. They are willing to go the extra mile.
  • 3. They are driven by excellence.
  • 4. They produce regardless of the situation.

DISCERNMENT
  • Can be described as the ability to find the root
    of the matter. Discernment helps the leader see
    a partial picture filling in the missing pieces
    and finds the real heart. It relies on intuition
    as well as rational thought. Never relies on gut
    feeling alone, but involves your head to find the
    best options.
  • Enhance your problem solving.
  • Evaluate your options for maximum impact.
  • Follow your instinct.

FOCUS
  • The sharper it is, the sharper you are.
  • Focus time and energy 70 on strengths
  • Focus 25 on new things
  • Growth equals change
  • Dont forget in leadership if you are through
    growing, youre through.
  • Focus 5 on areas of weakness- delegate your
    weaknesses. Stick to things you know.

GENEROSITY
  • Giving is the highest level of living.
  • Be grateful for whatever you have.
  • Put people first.
  • Dont allow the desire for possessions to control
    you.
  • Regard money as a resource.
  • Develop the habit of giving.
  • Give something away.
  • Find someone to mentor.

  • 1. Leaders know what they want.
  • 2. They push themselves to act.
  • 3. They take more risks.
  • 4. They make more mistakes.

  • 1. Change your mind-set.

LISTENING
  • The ear of the leader must ring with the voices
    of the people. A good leader encourages
    followers to tell him/her what he/she needs to
    know, not what he/she want to hear.
  • The Law of Connection is leaders touching hearts
    before they ask for a hand. Before you can touch
    a heart, you must know whats in it. You learn by
    listening.
  • The purpose of listening is to connect and learn.
  • Start listening not only for words, but also
    feelings, meanings and undercurrents.

PASSION
  • No one can be successful unless you love
  • Your work. If you look at the lives of effective
    leaders you will find that they often dont fit
    into a stereotypical mold.
  • More than 50 of all CEOs of Fortune 500
    companies had C or C- averages in college.
  • Nearly 75 of all U.S. presidents were in the
    bottom half of their school classes.
  • 50 of all millionaire entrepreneurs never
    finished college. Passion makes it possible for
    people who might seem ordinary to achieve great
    things.
  • Passion increases your will power.
  • Passion is the first step to achievement.
  • Your desire determines your destiny. Weak
    desires bring weak results and small fires
    creates little heat.
  • Passion makes the impossible possible. A leader
    with great passion and few skills always
    outperforms a leader with great skills and no
    passion.
  • People nowadays dont sing, dont dance, and
    dont even commit sin with much enthusiasm.

POSITIVE ATTITUDE
  • If you believe you can, you can.
  • 1. Your attitude is a choice. Dont allow your
    good attitude to deteriorate.
  • 2. Your attitude determines your actions.
  • Attitude is the criterion for success.
  • 3. Your people are a mirror your attitude. Who
    you are is who you attract.
  • 4. Maintaining a good attitude is easier than
    regaining one.

PROBLEM SOLVING
  • You will face problems!
  • Good problem solving ability demonstrate 5
    qualities
  • 1. They anticipate problems. If you have leaders
    who will come only if they know there is a good
    road, you should not want them.
  • 2. They accept the truth. People respond to
    problems in these ways They refuse to accept
    them they accept them and then put up with them,
    or they accept them and try to make things
    better. Face up to the reality of any situation.
  • 3. They see the big picture.
  • 4.They handle one thing at a time. Richard Sioma
    has this advise Never try to solve all the
    problems at once-make them line up for you
    one-by-one.
  • 5. They dont give up when you are in the valley.

  • 1. Look for trouble.
  • 2. Surround yourself with problem solvers.
  • 3. Develop a method and use TEACH
  • T ime-spent to discover the real issue.
  • E xposure-find out what others have done.
  • A ssistance-have your team study all angles.
  • C reativity-brainstorm multiple solution.

RELATIONSHIPS
  • If you get along, they will go along.
  • The most important single ingredient in the
    formula of success is knowing how to get along
    with people. People dont care how much you
    know, until they know how much you care.

  • You cant lead people if you need people.
  • Insecure leaders have several common traits.
  • 1. They dont provide security others.
  • 2. They take more from people than they
    give.
  • 3. They continually limit their best people.

  • If you want to become a leader for whom
    self-discipline is an asset

  • To get ahead, put others first. The true leader

  • How you treat others is really a reflection of
    how we think about ourselves.

  • Vision is everything for a leader.
