Story In India when they capture a baby elephant
they chain the elephant by its hind leg to a
wooden stake that has been driven into the
ground. The baby elephant tries to break the
chain and gain freedom, but after few days of
pulling and falling down and hurting its leg it
finally gives up. It realizes that it cannot
break the chain. It now believes that it cannot
break the chain ever. As the elephant grows
though the chain is not there still believes that
it cannot break the chain. It is self belief,
its attitude that it cannot break the chain. I am
sure for all of us there are chains on our legs,
chains on our attitude, chains on our minds that
weve carried throughout our lives.

Use Your Imagination to Find Success By
Anonymous Visualize what you want.See it, Feel
it, Believe in it.Your mind is a mental
workshop. You can build anything in it.Make your
mental blueprint,And begin to build. The
beginning is in your imaginationFirst think,
then organize your thoughts into plansThen
transform your thoughts into reality by taking
some positive action. Use your imagination to
perceive your reality,Even when it is not fully
materialized. You must first see it clearly in
your mindBefore you can do it.First visualize
and then actualize your wayTo success. You
really can live your dreams. All you need to do
is try.

Story A shoe company wanted to expand. The
management decided to send their best salesman to
Africa. They sent him out there first class,
booked him into a first class hotel and when he
arrived at the airport he went outside and then
rushed straight back in. He phoned his boss and
said, I am coming straight home, its a waste of
time here, nobody wears shoes. The company
decided to put off trying to sell in Africa.
However a couple of years later the companys
management had changed and the idea came up again
to expand into Africa. This time the most
inexperienced salesman was sent, the new person
on the block. He was flown out tourist,
booked into a cheap hotel and when he arrived at
the airport he went out just like the other
salesman rushed back into the airport. He phoned
his boss, Boss, send three more containers of
shoes its great here, well make a
fortunenobody wears shoe.

Classification of priorities All that we do can
be classified into 4 categories. Urgent and
important Works which are close to deadlines-
like submissions of projects, test papers,
worksheets etc. There is no choice but to do
these things. Urgent but not important Any task
that we have to do but not important. Eg
Answering the door bell. Not urgent but
important Tasks that are to be done with some
distant deadline. Eg Submitting the cumulative
record of the students at the end of the
term. Neither urgent nor important Watching TV,
computer games, chatting on phone etc. These
things are neither urgent nor important they are
for time pass. The essence of time management
lies in devoting maximum time for not urgent but
important category.

Difference between the two salesmen The only
difference between the two salesmen was their
attitude to the situation. Are we looking at
the opportunities or are we looking at the
problems? When we look at the problems generally
we are unable to see opportunities. When we
look at the opportunities we are unable to see
problems. Our attitude can really make
difference to our success. Success is not
determined by age or education it is determined
by our attitude.
