Nevada Southern Detention Center
CCA was selected by Department of Justice, Office
of the Federal Detention Trustee, to
construct/own/operate the detention center (up to
20-year contract) Customer is the U.S. Marshals
Service 1,072 bed, 80 million
facility 120-acre parcel located along East
Mesquite Ave Construction fall 2008 opening
in 4th quarter 2009. Hiring beginning approx.
six months prior to opening. Construction jobs
beginning in Fall 2008

charged with a federal offense but have not yet
been sentenced or are going through court
process. Inmates usually serve between 60-180
days (average 3 months) are sentenced in their
area of jurisdiction Nevada Southern Detention
Center cannot become a prison without a vote of
the Nye County Commission 4 CCA facilities are
