Three Phases

• Review of three processing centers (CTS, Mann,
  Law)
• Review of other processing centers and of unit
  libraries technical services responsibilities
• Review of CUL processing of rare books/serials,
  manuscripts/archives, multimedia (images, audio,
  video, film)

Phase 1 Objectives

• Recommend methods for achieving efficiencies in
  technical services operations
• Outline plans for reducing the operating costs of
  technical services in CTS, Mann, and Law by 10
  to 20 while maintaining acceptable service
  levels, by the end of 2005/06.

Phase 1 Deliverables

• By mid-June, prepare, arrange, and conduct
  feedback session(s) with LMT members to present
  the principal findings and jointly explore
  possible recommendations for reducing operating
  costs in CTS, Mann, and Law.
• By early July, produce and distribute to LMT
  members a written summary of major conclusions
  and recommended actions for enhancing efficiency
  and reducing technical services costs in CTS,
  Mann, and Law, including an impact analysis of
  implementing the recommendations.
