• Workforce development and training needed
• Computer Science majors declined by 32 from 2000
  through 2004
• Incoming Freshmen who are interested in Computer
  Science has declined 59 since 2000

opportunities

• NSF program Broadening Participation
• 14 Million for colleges and partnerships that
  recruit women, minorities, and people with
  disabilities
• 0.03 women freshmen expressed interest in CS,
  2004
• MIS and CIS graduates lacking soft skills,
  business skills
• IBM Using the Virtual capabilities of the new
  architecture
• IBM has program money to support IBM new
  architecture education opportunities by
  leveraging Higher Ed
