Blood Cell Histology
  • I will use the diagrams similar to the ones on
page 324 to test you on blood cells.
  • Be able to identify
  • Erythrocytes (red blood cells)
  • Neutrophil
  • Lymphocyte
  • Monocyte
  • Eosinophil
  • Basophil

3
Neutrophils odd shaped, lobed nucleus
4
LymphocytesSmall (about same size as the RBCs)
with a round nucleus that fills up most of the
cell
5
MonocytesBig (theyre the biggest!) with a fat-U
nucleus
6
EosinophilsCytoplasm is more pinkish in color,
VERY granular, sometimes have a snowman nucleus
7
BasophilsCytoplasm is more blue-ish in color,
VERY granular
8
Name this blood cell.
9
Monocyte
10
Name this blood cell.
11
BasophilIf you are getting them confused with
lymphocytes, note the SIZE. Basophils are LARGER
than RBCs whereas lymphocytes are the same size
as RBCs.
12
Name this blood cell.
13
Eosinophil
14
Name these blood cells.
